The food was divine, a very nice, only wanted to get a cream tea but ended up with a 2 course meal. Steak was cooked perfectly, desserts were amazing and filling too. Would happily come here again. The only thing I felt lacking just a little bit was the service, after we were seated and given menu's it was a good few minutes before we were saw to. Service throughout was okay just until the very end when we wanted to leave but had to wait for any staff to make an appearance.

This hotel is nestled in the heart of Dartmoor and has plenty of character. The rooms have a comforting and antique feel. I found the staff to be welcoming and thoughtful, helping me with my luggage and keeping the kitchen open so I could have some dinner (I arrived quite late). Breakfast was lovely, and again the staff were very helpful. There are some resident geese who live in the grounds, the only downside being that they will remind you they're there throughout the night. I'll be back!

Travelling back from Falmouth across Dartmoor we headed for Two Bridges Hotel as we've stopped off there previously. Absolutely amazing cream tea in a very relaxing atmosphere in the main bar. Added bonus its a lovely part of the world. We'll be back.

It is a lovely hotel with some very dedicated staff who could not be nicer or more helpful, but a lot of the staff go through the motions and say the right things, but there is little or no assistance or any help provided. They come across as if they don't care about the guests. In the past this hotel was staffed by more local people to the area, but now they seem to be from another nationality other than English. Whatever makes the staff feel uncaring to guests is anything to do with nationality of staff I really don't know, I must also say again there are some truely fantastic members of staff where nothing is to much for them. I would and will stay here again and I would still recommend this hotel as somewhere to stay. In my view the hotel is not very suitable for children. But it is well worth staying a few nights here, the food is very good as are the cream teas.

Had a lovely lunch here last Tuesday for my mum's 90th birthday, in front of a proper fire. A warm welcome from friendly, efficient staff. Everywhere looked clean and fresh - recently refurbished perhaps, in a traditional style. Thick red carpets, polished wood and brass. No trendy minimalist grey paint and stripped wood here thank goodness! Interesting old photos on the walls of old characters and Dartmoor scenes.
