I haven't been to eat here in years! It was a really nice atmosphere, I found a table with no issues and asked a member of staff if they catered for Coeliac's. I was given a tablet and after I selected Gluten it provided me with a list of meals I could eat gluten free. From front of house staff to the kitchen staff the care they took to ensure there was zero contamination was incredible! I felt so at ease eating my meal smothered chicken, the lovely chef brought it to my table, my cutlery had been sanitised separately and I had absolutely no effects at all. My only minor problem was the chicken, for me, was too wet and I did not like the sloppy texture, it was taken back and instead of steaming it they grilled it and it tasted far better. I asked if I could request it grilled in the future and was told that if the grill wasn't been used at a busy time to ensure no cross contamination they would accommodate me. A special shout out must go to our server, I'm so mad I forgot to get her name, but she will know who I mean if she sees this review. You were absolutely 'on point' with your customer service, kind, considerate, fantastic to my children and they are lucky to have you. I look forward to eating here again in the future, you should all be applauded in your knowledge of gluten intolerance and allergies. UPDATE JULY 2022 They have a FULL GF menu! And it's amazing! SO much choice and I will 100% be back. Service as always was spot on, they can not do enough for you.
Wonderful venue, nice and clean. Breakfast was lovely and reasonably priced. Staff lovely! My only criticism is that the pool tables were over 18, my husband and 16 year old son regularly play pool in various pubs and this is the first time I've come across this rule. Otherwise a very nice visit!
a really nice meal and a fantastic pub. food was beautifully presented and came out quickly. the toilets were clean and the place was tastefully furnished. it has a big beer garden and pool tables if you are in for a drink with friends.
We come here every Saturday after parkrun. They are so friendly and accommodating. Food is great and surprisingly cheaper than you'd think too. Plus 20% off if you have the Blue Light Card app.
We have been going to Darleys for many years, but today was a bit of a downer to be honest. First, the traditional Friday fish and chips was unavailable, and they had only just started serving lunch, so a possible problem with forward planning there!. Whilst there is no doubt the food is tasty, the portions seem to have dropped in size enormously, we ordered three main meals and noticed the apparent change immediately, but it was when the sweets arrived that it was very obvious, I ordered a fruit crumble, but when it arrived I honestly thought I'd received the crumbs left by a previous customer, a vision that wasn't helped by the massive size of the dish it came in. Now I get it that base costs may have increased and firms might be struggling, but so are we, the paying public. So the cost of buying the sweet had either remained the same or possibly increased I can't remember, but for the price paid the three meals and three sweets was not value for money, and other places are certainly producing better portions for the same money.
Ordered a medium steak from there mix it up menu. The fries was soaked with grease. And the steak was burned and overcooked. Didn't want to cause any issues but just lightly mentioned it to the manager after eating for future customers. The manager became a bit rude. Noted, will not be going there again in the future.
Called in at Darleys tonight for a meal, ordered a mini mixed grill , wife had Cheeseburger. My so called mixed grill consisted of chicken which had never seen a grill whilst on the premises , it was wet and soggy, couldn’t eat most of it. Not sure about the gammon, unlikely that had been near a grill. Asked a member of staff how the chicken was cooked and was told it was steam roasted I ordered a mixed GRILL, you cannot call it a mixed GRILL if it has not been Grilled. Gave 2 * because the chips were hot. Will I be coming back , don’t think so
Sadlet not a good experience. Went in for a meal as a vegetarian nothing I could eat as I can't eat mushrooms so sad there is no vision as we do like nice food the same as the meat eaters. Like cottage pie or a vegetarian pie or stew and dumlings. I use to really like eating there but won't be visiting any Time soon.
The managers son Joseph served me the finest juicy meat I have ever ridden, I mean tasted. It filled my mouth with one thousand flavours and I will never forget the experience I had on that night. He gave the best table service I could imagine and served me the finest coldest beer I have ever tasted. I wish I could go back again but my uncle Mcnutt drove my car into the river and shot my wheels with shotgun bullets I won't be able to return. My uncle Mcnutt is now on the run and we're trying track him down.
Booked a table but it was help yourself on entry. Food was great as always and delivered promptly. The best part was being able to use triple-up tesco vouchers towards the good bill! An enjoyable night out with friends, all the better for being affordable.
