I’d attended my citizenship ceremony last Saturday and it turned out to be a very pleasant experience. The staff is cordial and the venue is very well restored with sprawling greens. Though not sure about the cafe, had a cursory look through their menu and found it to be a little overpriced. However there’s a pub (Danson Stable) in the same vicinity which offers great food and drinks for a price totally worth.

Wind whipped and forlorn with commanding presence over an endless lawn. The 200 year old Bexley Charter Oak ( one of London's 20 most important trees ) a lonely sentinel overlooking the lake. Authoritative but not endearing here. Fortunately the park surrounds offer an appealing alternative destination.

Excellent place to spend a day out with family/kids. Big boating lake where you can feed birds. Big and very well maintained playground for kids of all ages. Kiosk, where you can buy coffee, snacks or some warmed food, tables to sit and toilets (reasonable standard) available close to the playground. Danson Stable pub is popular and serves good food. However we did not like the burger from the kids menu (may be because we went there within the very busy hours), but kids fish and chips are amazing.
