Story

HISTORY

David A Wilson was a foreman at Loxhams garage on Penny Street, and his son, David C. Wilson worked there as an apprentice - before going it alone, aged 23, at the former Brewery Lane site behind the Dukes theatre.

David was joined by son David H. Wilson in 1996, aged 16, and since relocating to Scotforth, the youngest member of the family has taken over the reigns, with grandfather and father there for guidance.

David was then joined by experienced mechanic Paul Sanderson, who had been with the business for 36 years, and was responsible for MOT servicing. Since Paul's departure Nigel Pye previously of Speight's Garage, with 35 years experience will now be responsible for MOT testing, servicing and repairs.

Neville Smith, who also has a long connection to the Wilsons, worked as a salesman at Loxhams and then in 1986 came to DC WIlson to work as a salesman, and has remained until he retired in 2009.

Trusted and longtime family friend Robert Patchett began working for D C Wilson 10 years ago in a part time position as he was studying a business Management degree, with the departure of Neville combined with the growing success of the business, Robert was the perfect choice to take up the role of Assistant Manager.

In 2005 service technician and MOT tester Paul McQueen joined the team, bringing vast knowledge having previously worked at Audi, VW and Seat dealerships.

After finishing his apprenticeship in 2011, Paul Speight is the latest and youngest addition to the D C Wilson team, being able to draw on his colleagues combined experience of over 100 years means he is able to develop his car servicing and repair skills.
