Our director, David Lindsay, has a lifetime of experience in the funeral industry acquired through building trust and relationships with families and the local communities. We offer a selection of bespoke funeral packages based on both yourself and your loved ones' wishes, we value ourselves on being transparent with all our fees and offer competitive, affordable, funeral services. Myself and my family cannot express how grateful we are to the wonderful team at D A Lindsay & Sons for going above and beyond for my mother's funeral. From the first contact nothing was too much trouble and made the whole experience very stress free. Holly was an absolute star and kept us updated all the way through the process of arrangements. On the day, Holly, David and Bernie were there at every step to support us. We gave Mum the send off she deserved and are so grateful to have picked this company, cannot recommend them highly enough.
I could never say enough good things about our experience with David and Holly at D.A. Lindsay & Sons. My mother-in-law passed away suddenly and unexpectedly while we were actually visiting her from California. We were in total shock and deep grief, and I could not have imagined navigating through the funeral planning process without the support, compassion and kindness of David and Holly. Nothing was too much for them and they went out of their way to make the process as easy for us as possible. They were available whenever we needed them by phone or email, extremely responsive and just so very kind and gentle. Losing someone you love, especially suddenly and without warning, is extremely difficult. Then adding in the stress of funeral planning takes an already tough situation to the next level. But having David and Holly there to walk us through each step of the process, explaining what to expect and all of our options, made an impossible situation feel manageable. I am so very grateful to David and Holly for their kindness, compassion and support during our time of deep grief, and I could not recommend them enough. They are genuine, good people who clearly have a passion for helping others navigate one of the most difficult experiences we have in life - losing a loved one.
Holly and David provided a caring and comprehensive service. Everything was thought of and put together without any hassle for us. I thoroughly recommend them to anyone looking for a stress free funeral.
David Lindsay and Sons made my grandmother's funeral extremely beautiful by the service they provided for my family and I. I will forever be grateful for how David and his team accommodating our requests and gave exceptional support during our time of grief.

When my brother suddenly and unexpectedly passed away, I had to take on the responsibility of organising a funeral, something which I had never done before. After looking at a few options, I came across D A Lindsay & Sons, and approached them as I felt it would be nice to go with a family business. I definitely made the right choice in working with them. David who manages the company was incredibly personable, professional, clear and understanding from the moment I spoke with him. He explained everything to me in a very sensitive and delicate way, whilst also helping me to consider options, and understand the process and the role of a funeral director when someone sadly passes away. We never felt pressured about any decisions which we wanted to make; they were only focused on what we wanted to do as a family. Because of the circumstances in how my brother passed away, I had to have many conversations with David over several months, and every time I spoke with him or someone else at the company, they were always the same, kind, helpful, considerate and caring, even if it was a quick phone call just to clarify something. Even at times when David may have been on the phone, he always called me straight back as soon as he had finished his call. For various reasons, mainly due to the pandemic, burying the ashes and creating a plaque for my brother needed to be delayed, and therefore I have kept in touch with David, Kim and Holly over the past year and a half, and I have got to know the staff and the company well. I would also like to mention Grace, who they recommended for conducting my brothers funeral service, and also some time later the burial of my brother’s ashes. Grace is lovely, kind, compassionate and a real rock, someone who you can have complete trust in when facing such a difficult time. We were so pleased to have had her there by our side during this period. I would without hesitation recommend D A Lindsay and Sons to anybody, especially those who may have had to take on a funeral and do not know where to start. Everybody working there has been so thoughtful and caring to my family, and I can not recommend them highly enough
I am a bit late writing a review as my dad passed away in November 2021 but I wanted to write this review to thank D A Lindsay & Sons for their service. The minute that I walked into DA Lindsay I knew we would go with them. I visited a few others before but never felt that personal touch. They were all great from the start to the finish, they were caring, professional and met all our requirements and my mum especially was at peace once she visited in the chapel of rest. They were not clock watching at the cemetery to leave and left when we were ready. Thank you from Gina Henderson and the Georgiades family.
I used DA Lindsay & Sons on the advice of a neighbour who had used them for both her beloved Dad and brother. I wanted a direct cremation and they were happy to oblige. Holly was a wonderful, compassionate person to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. I didn't want to go into their premises to fetch my husband's ashes so they were delivered to me which I really appreciated. My husband's cremation was complicated because it involved an inquest but Holly kept me informed every step of the way. When my husband's body was collected, I was allowed to uncover his face so he could take a last look at the clouds and the sun, something I really appreciated. Holly's Dad was one of the undertakers so it was lovely having a family feel to the sad occasion. Thanks so much for a great service.
We got an amazing tailored funeral for my late cousin. David and Holly were so sensitive and respectful at this the most difficult of times, listened so carefully to our requirements and on the day everything went like clockwork. They were always upfront about pricing and it was very reasonable considering we asked them to hold the commemoration on a Sunday and allow religious officials to hold the service and for many from my community to attend. Thanks so much all of you for a great service : Highly recommended.
David and his team made the day more memorable and great. They were accommodative and understood the family's needs. They communicated all the process well and supported the family well to give a great farewell to my dad. Thank you and highly recommend their service.
