I was on mulberry ward for 13 months and this was the most disgraceful experience i have had in a hospital, a handful of staff were caring and the rest were extremely neglectful and straight up abusive. Multiple staff used incorrect holds and pushed me away from cameras during my most vulnerable moments. I was over medicated with antipsychotics and antidepressants which is why it took them 6 months to assess me, assesment on mulberry was upto 6 weeks. I received finger shaped bruises and countless red marks from incorrect holds, they put their entire torso on my arm, put my hands in between their legs and pulled me when i moved. I was squeezed until i couldn’t breathe.nnI am diagnosed with debilitating chronic illnesses and had struggles cleaning my room, staff were so neglectful i sat rotting in an ant infestation. Some staff had communication barriers and some had no idea how to deal with children in mental health crisis. and some pretending to be busy to dodge observationsnnOther patients who i will not name have reported having hair ripped out, bones broken from being shoved, being slapped and smacked. Some have been left to self harm for hours when though staff knew, they were left to sit in their own blood. I had multiple infections in a severe wound to my hand due to dressings not being done regularly and correctly. What they called ‘headtapping’ to my family, caused a traumatic brain injury, and yet they blamed it on me having ‘delicate skin’. Mulberry ward is an absolutely disgusting ward. I wouldn’t send anyone here unless you want to be abused.nnThe communication with my mum was awful, some staff had no idea who i was sometimes.1 staff member didn’t know how to do an incident report.nnSome staff were great though especially maisey. She was always there for me and helped me through my recovery, thank you.nninvesstigations on this ward and hospital need carrying out immediately.
Absolutely disgusting. Some staff were nice but what isn’t nice is being assaulted, treated like trash, being slapped, and dragged. Primrose is horrific and so is the dr and managers. Horrific staff members that should be fired: Cheryl Wood, Lindsay Stonall, Leah Carruthers, Dr Rizwan Ali, Thresea, Ella Jones, Jo Bible, Sunne Jones, bunch of agency staff.
Hudson reception. When visiting Cygnet I have always found the staff especially Allan Fairbrother to be friendly, compassionate and very professional. All book in procedures are followed and if there is an issue surrounding my visit ie, room or staff unavailable it is explained and a solution is found quickly. The reception area is always clean and tidy and there are booklets for each ward with information in them for you to read.
Had a terrible time here was starved in mulberry seclusion. The staff deprived of food and water. Also Paul on wizard headbutted me on the nose giving me a nose bleed I asked the social worker to report him to the police doubt they even reported him. I had 3 meals in 6 days. When I was spazzing out in seclusion no one pulled the alarm.
Staff are very friendly and polite always a nice environment to visit ,Skyy and Allan and the rest of the staff are always pleasant and welcoming
