I visited a friend today. Without exception the staff were wonderful, friendly and welcoming particularly Becky on reception. The visiting area is bright and cheerful and I left happy my friend is being very well cared for by lovely people
Horrible place to work! Hospital manager is very dictator- like! Staff-who are majority of colour- are treated terribly and they seem not to have a voice! Not only do they have to look after patients but they are expected to clean the whole place! All housekeepers quit, that should tell you something!
Staff treated horribly by management, failures hidden from auditors, patients with a huge range of issues all crammed together and only let outside when being reviewed. I knew someone who worked there - staff would get regularly beaten up by patients, sometimes even being hospitalised. Management would then pressure them to come to work next day. However bad you can imagine these facilities being, I assure you it’s worse.

Awful place to work under the new management!nnPatient safety concerns not taken seriously, they just get swept under the carpet. Management turn a blind eye to internal failures.nnThe kitchen is clean but the laundry room is disgustingly filthy causing potential contamination and infection issues. Patients are regularly wearing eachothers clothes because there is no system in place to prevent this.nnSome patients are rarely allowed out of the building even if they are well and suitable enough.nnStaff levels are far below the required number to meet safety guidelines which results in patients being contained to a single room for long periods of time being forced to watch daytime tv.nnFunding is atrocious, for well over a year patients have been neglected because of a lack of petty cash. Management have only just set up a business bank account in February.nnHealth and safety records and other legal documents are falsified to comply with regulations and obligations. Auditors, clinicians, senior management and visitors are lied to and manipulated in order to hide failures.nnFire saftey procedures are not adhered to and again putting patients at risk, in some cases a simple drill can take over 6 minutes instead of 2 minutes and communication is extremely poor.nnHeating, water supply and electrical issues are a regular concern but never dealt with effectively or promptly.nnThe hospital needs to be overhauled from top to bottom!
