Fantastic customer service experience today when buying my first adult bike. I opted for the Brompton folding bike and was lucky enough to be met by Stu the Brompton expert at CR, although other staff were equally knowledgeable and enthusiastic and adept at fashioning an emergency hair bobble for me!. Just over two hours of consultation and advice cross every item needed for buying a bike and riding again for the first time in almost 30 years, apart from the odd visit to Amsterdam, where the bike would mostly sit outside a coffee shop! Stu was honest and not interested in the hard sell, recommending items that he himself has or would use, items which were cheaper than the brands own. I was reassured that his priority was that I had a helmet and lights. I was given the chance to set the bike up until I was comfortable; after much apprehension I made the quick ride to central station then undertook a five mile ride home thought the dark Ayrshire countryside in wind and rain putting the bike, lights, helmet and bag etc to the test. *****service I’m looking forward to using CRGlasgow as my go to bike shop. If only there was a physio onsite who could help heal my aching legs tomorrow.
Very friendly, knowledgeable staff who efficiently repaired my bike. Most importantly, they are non-judgmental which, for someone with little knowledge about bikes and poor on maintenance, helps a lot. Price are very competitive too. I would highly recommend this place and will be sending my bike here for future services. Thanks guys.
The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They had the helmet I wanted come all the way from Edinburgh for me. They patiently answered all my questions and took the time to show me how to fold and unfold my new bike. I highly recommend them and have been telling all my cycling friends about the shop. Would give them more stars if I could.
Had an issue with my bike during a cycle, stopped off here and the guys in the shop fixed my problem in 5 minutes free of charge. They know their stuff and gave me some advice for looking after my bike. I wouldn’t hesitate to put my bike into the workshop for a service here in the future.
I’m not usually one to write reviews, but I felt the customer service was this great that Adam Hazel deserves the recognition for the service provided. He was genuine, honest, and used his knowledge of cycling to best suit my needs and wants. Very rare that we ever get this kind of service so it’s important that it’s recognised. I did not even buy a bike from the store but that was more personal. Although if I were to buy a bike in the near future I would come straight to Adam. He is a merit to the store. Thanks
I came to cycle republic very keen to get more information about the best bike for me. Julian was fantastic, very happy to talk through all my requirements, supremely patient with my indecision and clearly very knowledgable. He put such time and effort in that I went away confident that I’d made the right purchase and felt he and his colleagues went above and beyond to help me walk out with a ready built up bike on that very morning. 100% would be recommend for all your cycling needs! Thanks Julian and all at cycle republic !!!
Be careful. They mean well I'm sure, but I had the following problems that you should look out for: - Arranged to come in at 1500 to collect bike, didn't get my hands on it until around 1615. - When I did, I was sent off into traffic with a stem bolt that wasn't tightened. Nearly fell over the front handlebars as they spun down when I put any force on them. I went straight back in and the mechanic who'd been so proud of putting the bike together hid in the back. Someone else was good and re-checked everything for other mistakes. - Mudguards were seriously rubbing on front tyre, they suggested I use a cable tie to stop that. Not on a new £900 bike...managed to adjust them myself at home. Same with disk breaks. Gearing was fine. - Bought some gloves and a jacket, both now have holes after around a month of commuting 10km total daily... So if you have to use them for cycle2work etc then go for it, but keep your wits about you. My advice to management is to really drill the safety aspect into their staff, and don't overload them with too many bikes to build in one day. I would have waited another day for a safe bike, and now don't have the confidence to take it there for any servicing.
I had such brilliant service and support from Adam and the guys in Cycle Republic – thank you!! They made sure I was completely happy with my new bike Marin Presidio 3 and accessories. They went above and beyond. Getting quality support was the reason I went through a storefront and didn’t just order everything online. You guys did not disappoint – knowledgeable, friendly and patient. Thank you again!!
I came in last week having issues with my front brakes caused by changing my tyre with a different cycling company who told me I would need to go in for a £35 service but would have to wait the following week as they were fully booked. Concerned about how I was going to get home without the use of my brakes I went to Cycle Republic who fixed them in a matter of minutes, and they felt even better than before! Although I only came to fix my brakes, my handlebars were checked and altered, and my bell was fixed as it was a little loose. From now on, Cycle Republic will be my first choice for my bike needs, it feels like a massive relief to know I'm going to a reliable place where the staff are knowledgeable, passionate and want you to have a perfect cycle! Thank you again!
Five star treatment from staff at this shop. great range of bikes and gear at fantastic prices, excellent workshop and just the best service from the staff. I'm delighted with my new Marin Four Corners bike.
