Restored our faith in Scottish food. Fast to come to the table. Friendly, welcoming staff. Food is outstanding and perfectly portioned. 100 per cent will return.
Last time we were in Stranraer we had an amazing meal here, so we thought why not visit again. Sadly the food was not really up to much. From point of order to it being on our table must have been no more than 5 minutes. The stake and ail pie was burnt on the pastry and just really lacking taste. The southern fried chicken burger was ok but wasn’t really what you would expect from a pub. Shame really as like I say last time we were here it was amazing. Now if I was going to rate on service alone I’d happily give 5 start as the service was perfect.
A greene king pub offering a good choice of food and drink at great prices, we went on a Tuesday lunch time and had the seniors special, 3 courses for £7.99 2022 starter, main and pudding, slightly smaller portions but still plenty, we had a soft drink each and it still only came to just over £40 for 4 of us, excellent value, the staff were friendly and the service was good, would definitely go back again, place was light and airy and looked clean, went back on Sunday for a Sunday Roast £10.79, unfortunately very disappointed with it, had beef it came with roast potatoes think they were frozen ones same with the yorkshire pudding, a ball of stuffing never had stuffing with beef and the only vegetable was carrots and a concoction of cold cauliflower cheese, which we all left, I would advise ordering something else.
Excellent local bar. Friendly staff. The food smells and looks great but did not try as waiting for my train. Great pint of beer here. The Bellhaven best is an excellent pint,great flavour and a good price
Heading home from Sandbank we stopped of in stranraer for a light dinner Custom House has a chain pub feel to it, in this case though, not a bad thing, a cut way above Wetherspoons at the stranraer waterfront and very close to lovely St.Johns Castle. So sorry i didnt take photos of pub. Great menu with something for everyone and a few unusual things like my Tao Buns with shredded beef and pickled red onion. My friend had mini italian sausages with dips and we shared Cauliflower Wings and Sweet Potato Fries. All very appetizing and tasty. Staff were friendly and service was good. Very comfortable seating with many private booths. Tv's everywhere, so, no doubt, great for sports fans.
Had a lovely lunch here yesterday, the steak pie was delicious! two main meals for £13.49 is a great price too! Lovely atmosphere and good pool table! Service from Dani was fantastic! Polite, friendly and service with a smile!
We were a party of 6 tonight. We had a request of the staff due to an additional need and they were so understanding and kind. Food was quick and tasty. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly. We really had a great, family night out because of the fantastic staff.
Very nice , clean pub. Been to a lot of places like this but haven't quite found one like it. Toilets very clean, the place overall has a great atmosphere and the food looks fantastic. My best experience here was the Guinness , excellent! Will be back.
Very tasty food. Servers were all very attentive and helpful. Do a good deal on 2 meals for 12.49
Went for a meal while staying locally, the meal was very reasonably priced ordered mixed grill and a steak which was on a special offer. Mixed grill was good according to partner, my steak had to go back as it needed a few more minutes cooking but the server was great and sorted it. His banter was great so funny, refreshing to have someone who enjoys his job. Will definitely go back if in the area again.
