Recently opened, CuredBar is one of those hidden gems in the Angel and Islington area. We came for Sunday lunch and had amazing food in a relaxed and chilled new restaurant. Cheese platter and king prawn as starters were delicious, as well as the main pasta dish and the roast beef special. Portions were more than generous without compromising quality. It's well worth the price. Wine list is pretty good and also includes a house wine. Staff was helpful and told us that they plan to do events during weekdays and live music for Sundays. They have an outside eating area and are kids and family friendly. We'll be back!
Food, service, ambiance, location, everything gets five starts. We were hosting 20 people for celebrations and everyone commented what a great place this was. The service was friendly and kind. The food was excellent you can't miss the cheese and meat boards. And the restaurant is spacious, hard to find in that area! I know I will be going back, and certainly many of my guests will return too.
Lovely neighborhood restaurant with reasonably priced, tasty food and very good portion sizes. Everything we tried was delicious king prawns, cheeseboard, sausage tagliatelle and the beef roast special. Will definitely come here again.
First day openings are difficult at best. In Islington, Epicurean centre of North London, it is especially so, with competition from established eateries for the North Londoners' patronage. On arriving. I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a light and airy atmosphere, punctuated by contemporary Jazz Fusion music that promised whispered culinary adventures. The decor is simple, with an emphasis on wood tones and soft lighting that fills the room with a welcome that is sadly missing in other, dimly lit, establishments. I was not disappointed by the food. The menu is limited, but solid. It was an evening meal and the choices were predominantly pasta based, with a few exceptions. My wife went for classic steak and chips with an Italian twist, my friend chose the Prawn Linguini dressed in a light and herby tomato sauce. I always try the chicken, where available, when I first visit a restaurant: you can tell a lot about a chef by how he tackles a chicken based main. My choice was the Norfolk Chicken breast accompanied by a cauliflower puree, roasted cauliflower and lettuce with an aubergine and red wine jus. The flavours were perfectly balanced, the chicken was tender and whilst it clung to the bone, it melted like butter in the mouth. The jus had an almost nutty sweet flavour and the lettuce was the first I tasted roasted. I'm hooked, as was everyone else at the table. The chef, Baba, is from Myanmar Burma, if you are old enough to remember and came out to see if everyone was happy with their meal. It was the perfect gesture on an opening night and it made me feel that we were at the theatre enjoying an Andrew Lloyd Webber show. Which, come to think of it, is not far off the mark describing our eating experience. I congratulated him on his craft and I believe that Cured has in him an exceptional chef who will take them far. I cannot wait to try the expanded menu in a few weeks time!
Nice place with a good atmosphere and nice people. The food is very good, particularly their delicatessen. The wine list is extensive and will fit any budget without sacrificing quality.
I visited last night with my Sicilian friend, and we were both very impressed by the quality of the bruschetta with lots of interesting combinations, pasta and tirimasu. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly owner. Highly recommended!
Amazing food, great service. Accidentally stumbled on a blues jam night, which was incredible!! Totally worth a diversion from the beaten track. Much better than many upper street restaurants.
We wandered past Cured looking for something fresh, tasty and delicious, and the food here fitted the bill perfectly. Set in a wood-panneled room with the sun coming in, it made for a great Summer lunchtime feel. We had salads bursting with flavours that would have matched anything at Ottolenghi, and the staff made us feel welcome, even when we stayed far longer than we'd intended. A highly recommended addition to the Islington restaurant scene.
An amazing and friendly cozy local olde Islington bar revamped with a modern fresh menu, beautiful decked terrace, woodburning stove and super friendly staff and landlord. Just a stone throw from Upper Street. Perfect for lunch dinner or just reminiscing over drinks. Even if you've been before try it again. Go on x
Fantastic food and really cosy. I recommend the linguine with chili and seafood and the beef cheeks. Delicious . My wife had the pumpkin ravioli and again delicious . Will definitely be coming back.
