Story

The Liman Restaurant means port in the Turkish language, however the restaurant opens its doors to all aspects of the mediterranean kitchen. The kitchen will be mostly focused on Mediterranean food; the owners of the restaurant are young professional chefs who can bring new, exciting tastes to Angel, Islington which will show trough in the quality of food they prepare.

The food is simply splendid; try our special kebabs, vegetarian and fish dishes- with an emphasis on fresh salads. For the ultimate treat, try our exquisite home made baklava.

Wow! as we enjoyed our meal, we reminisced about how dramatically the food scene has changed in London the past 40 years. This is an incredible restaurant that delivers incredibly tasty Turkish food. If you are a lamb lover, this is the place to go and they know how not to overcook their chops and skewers. The cold meze were also excellent and our server Anil was amazing.
We had a lovely family dinner at Liman. The food was excellent. The lamb shank and the moussaka are truly their signature dishes. Elle, the hostess was kind enough to recommend them and really took care of me and my family. Will definitely dine here again. The experience was wonderful.Food: 5/5
My firend and I shared the Chicken Skewer and Mixed Grill dishes. What feast. We certainly did not leave hungry. All the grilled items were tasty, tender and cooked to perfection. The salad and the salad dressing were fresh and flavoursome and it was a nice change to have a side of mixed vegatables that weren't drowning olive oil. Definitely recommend Liman.
What a gorgeous restaurant. Truly outstanding! Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautifully decorated and furnished room. Excellent food & drink. I made a small plates dinner from the starter menu: Mixed cold meze of 5 dips/salads Calamari Falafel balls A basket of bread arrived too. Two glasses of Pinot noir and a small bottle of sparkling water. It was delicious and a joy to eat. I will be back and I will try more of the menu.
We’ve visited Liman several times and this time we brought our friends from Canada for dinner. Once again, we were not disappointed with our meal. The food was delicious and portions very generous. The service provided by Ahmet was equally excellent. We had the mixed Meze and calamari along with lamb shank, lamb chops and several other main courses which were all excellent. We will certainly return to the restaurant.
The atmosphere in the restaurant was good. After 7:30 pm, the lighting changed to a softer tone, creating a nice ambiance. The fish I ordered was very tasty. The customer service was good, and the waiter provided excellent suggestions on the wine to pair with my meal.
A bit more of an upscale vibey Turkish restaurant with mood lighting and acoustic covers providing background ambience to the bustle of lovely staff and open kitchen serving up large tasty portions. They do a vegetarian moussaka!Food: 4/5
I’m always skeptical heading into Turkish restaurants in gentrified areas, oftentimes I walk away disappointed with subpar taste and portion size BUT Liman does not disappoint! From the lovely friendly and accommodating staff to the tastefully decorated interior, you’ll walk into a warm both figuratively and literally environment. The food was well presented, bursting with flavour and maintained the Turkish standard of ensuring you walk roll? out of the restaurant full and happy. We ordered quite a few starters and main so I won’t describe them one by one, just feast your eyes until on the pics! Go go go there :
Popped in before going to the cinema, just to grab an early light dinner. We had a few of the small plate dishes to share and they were excellent. I particularly liked the scallops and king prawns which were cooked perfectly! The braised aubergine was also really tasty. The waiters were extremely pleasant too. Definitely a nice spot for a date night. Will definitely return. Tip top.
