Easy to get to on London overground. The park is a large green nature area, with a Brown and Green cafe, the National Sports Centre, the famous dinosaur pond the first public representation of dinosaurs in the world, if I recall, the remnants of the original Crystal Palace, lots of paths to walk or cycle and a chill atmosphere.
Useless staff. They are paid to sit inside the glass wall and most of the time just sitting on their phone. If train card doesn't work and you ask for help it will take ages until they realize you are a paid customer. They rather treat me like I am the one who is cheating. Utterly upsetting. On the top of that I see people regularly forcing the gate. The people who want to travel for free and they aren't stopped. Me, the paying one yes! They stop me and always wasting mins to get out.
It’s a station so there isn’t much to say other than there are trains to Sutton, London Bridge, Victoria, Highbury and Islington and Beckenham Junction. It’s one of the prettiest stations in London, right next to the Crystal Palace park. Always clean and staff are helpful.
The building is absolutely stunning, the staff are friendly and the service was good. Only issue is sometimes Southern Rail's cancellations etc.
A lot of steps to negotiate to get to the platforms, good connections into London, limited going they other way as you have to go to East Croydon or Clapham Junction to change.
Sleepy but busy station.
Southern and Overground services. Easily accessible for wheelchairs from entrance to platforms. Close to the track stadium and park.
Just a gem. Historical station, unfortunately the staff that work at the station don’t care for you safety. A family was attacked by local kids, to avoid taping out of station why staff stood there playing on their phones. Be safe, everyone.
I do like the design of the station, especially with the additional roof spanning the main through platforms. The train services aren't too good honestly but all platforms have step free access, seating, shelter and toilets are provided on the top level and on the platforms to/from Beckenham Junction. Staffing and ticket barriers are on the top level.
This train station is really tiny and yet even during rush hour it isn't too busy which is great. The staff here are always really helpful and there's a really nice cafe inside which serves good-ish coffee and has lovely food offerings. From this train station you are literally a few minutes walk away from Crystal Palace park and about a five minute walk from the main high street.
