Great welcoming, friendly place to go for a meal or pint of local real ale. Also fabulous as a hotel. We stayed for 2 nights for a local family wedding and loved it. Breakfasts were amazing as was the evening meal. They have an amazing chef ‍ the staff are lovely. We would happily recommend this place to everyone!
More of a restaurant than a pub these days. personal experience when just popping in for a drink you don't get a lot of time to enjoy a pint as the tables are reserved. In the summer it's ok as you can drink outside with no issues. Booking a table and eating, the food is great but the service is a little slow, we had to wait some time for our drinks to arrive. Found it best to order drinks when we were half empty so they would arrive pretty much as we had finished the old ones. But overall not too bad would go again, prices are what you would expect.
Friendly helpful staff but sometimes difficult to attract attention. Roasts was ok but nothing special... enjoyed salmon blinis and iced parfait. Pleasant atmosphere. We were not disappointed with the the meal and I would not have a problem eating there again. it's just not one of those places I feel I 'must' return to.Food: 3/5
Such a shame. This pub was so nice when it re-opened. Now it's tired and well over priced for the quality of both the food and service. And half empty as a result. £29.00 for a 10oz piece of very average steak and none of the staff know how to use the machine to make an Americano coffee? What does Hook Norton think it's doing?! They clearly can't be bothered with this place. A real shame. Eye watering price Vs quality.
We went to The Crown for dinner last night and the food was absolutely amazing. The choice and quality of food was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly, very helpful, and we will definitely be coming back very soon. Highly recommend!

Stayed the night at the rooms above the pub whilst visiting friends in Benson. The pub and restaurant are a clean, contemporary finish of a traditional country pub and we enjoyed a high-quality breakfast there in the morning. The rooms upstairs are classy but quirky – with pops of coloured velvet, a mid-century modern chair, and brass flamingo lamps. Felt more like a boutique hotel room and made for a very comfortable night. Massive thanks to the manager Lexi, who looked after us with infectious enthusiasm from check in to check out. Her level of service was top notch. We will definitely be back!
Would not recommend for food, unfortunately, other local pubs are better in terms of quality, taste and service.Service: 2/5
The staff were all friendly, service with a smile my grandma asked for a children's roast dinner and they catered for her needs food portions were just right also came out piping hot, the overall atmosphere was amazing would definitely recommend it to any one who visits benson or is passing through
Popped in forca pint been re vamped by Hook Norton brewery. Very pleasant interior and staff. Definately going back for lunch.
