Love this quirky little place. The staff is friendly and they stock the lo lists and oddest items you can think off. I personally love their Christmas stock. I also love the coffee shop attached to the shop.
Really lovely little spot. Came here with my daughter and other half. Plenty of space for my pram and the cafe is very child friendly. The coffee was the best I have had in a long time and was not overpriced. Staff where friendly and efficient. I walked into the area where they serve you and was acknowledged instantly which is really nice. Will definitely be returning..
This is my favourite place to eat in Muswell Hill as it has a lovely outdoor “tea garden” area with a beautiful pond with real fish in it! Staff are very friendly and the food is always delicious. I had the new halloumi burger with avocado today and it is now my favourite thing on the menu! I love to bring my friends here as they are always surprised to find such a lovely oasis tucked away between two shops on the Broadway.
This cafe has gone downhill over the years, I suggested to a friend we meet here, placed our order and paid at the till and honestly we had to clear our own table, virtually all the tables were left uncleared from other people seated there previously. The place looked a mess. We sat patiently chatting and realised we were waiting a very long time. We asked for a refund and decided to go else where. It's obvious the staff are not treated very well and are over worked. I've also heard the owner is a frustrated ex theatre set designer who once went over board with the shop front of one of his other places and was asked by the local council to modify the design as it was not in keeping with the local architecture.
Great little cafe! Quirky, relaxing, friendly and the Red Velvet Cake was pretty darn good! Maybe a bit pricey but it is in Muswell Hill, London... Muswell Hill is a great area too. No tube so it remains kinda village-y. Lovely.
I bought a Christmas tree! Although very heavy the staff went out of their way to help me carry it part way to my destination! Very helpful and very kind x
The Crocodile Gallery Cafe, running alongside and behind the Crocodile Antiques shop, is a charming little place, fitting in very well with the feel of Muswell Hill. Most of the seating is outside, the front section running two-seater tables in a wide alley beside the shop, whilst the back opens out into a covered area, with tables for larger groups. The kitchen and counter are inside to the right, and, despite not having menus when we visited, needed to be visited by each member of the party, just to witness the delicious cakes and items on offer. Prices are typically Muswell Hill, being a bit more than a typical street cafe or greasy spoon, but the quality of food far higher than the aforementioned establishments, not quite so generous matching dish for dish, you can still fill up on a decent size-portion, if you're willing to pay the difference. Definitely worth a look, and a good place to dive into whilst shopping on the Broadway, although I can imagine it getting rather full on a Saturday afternoon, due to its obvious attraction for with local families.
One of my favourite gift shops in Muswell Hill, with an amazing choice of arty stuff. They also have a lovely cafe at the back - it has a homely feel, relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty food. Reasonably priced.
Dear CC Have you recently changed your Bubble & Squeak dish? I always order it when I visit and I have always been served two good sized pieces of bubble. Today I was served one and a small one at that. I queried it and was told you have only ever served one which simply isn't correct. I didn't like to argue but now I'm feeling a bit ripped off, particularly as I'm gluten intolerant and couldn't eat the toast that usually comes with this dish - I usually rely on the two bubbles to feel like I've had a proper meal. My son's pizza was very nice, thanks. Matthew
We just wanted to grab a coffee on our walk and we’re heading to Starbucks but passing the cafe we seen the cakes in window and choose to stop by here - nice coffee, beautiful and tasty cakes and quick service! All covid safe
