Story

Enjoying an ideal location, set back from busy Pole Lane with ample car parking, The Craven Heifer is a great place to meet friends from all over Darwen and beyond!


The pub offers great priced food complemented, by a wide selection of beers, ales and wines, with themed night events running over the course of the year.


Midweek we offer a quiz night and a pool team. Over the weekend we provide fantastic entertainment, with live artists and bands. Come along and dance the night away - making the most of our late licence!


We have a superb function offering, with its private facilities for those special occasions, such as birthday parties, christenings, funerals, hen nights and even weddings! We can provide set meals, buffets or cater to whatever your requirements may be please feel free to ask for more details.

Really good filling meal. Cumberland sausage for Toad in the hole with Mash, veg and gravy. My better half enjoyed her cheese and onion pie and sticky Toffee pudding too! Great service and super friendly staff. Thanks guys! UPDATE: Had fish and chips today and was a really great dinner!

I've been to the Heifer twice in the last 20 years. Once a few weeks ago and again yesterday. I agree with one tiny bit of what Philip Heys wrote, "the taller girl behind the bar sets the tone for the service.". Yes, she does, and it's excellent. Polite, welcoming, friendly, cheerful, she even remembered what food I'd ordered last time despite several weeks having passed and we had a laugh about it. Nice food,, good beer although I was a bit disappointed there wasn't Wainwright's available I must have been to a different pub than Phillip.
