Lovely campsite. Had a great evening with homemade pizzas and burgers and a folk band playing. Facilities are really cool, with a little kitchen with a kettle, microwave and fridge and washing up facilities. The showers and toilets were lovely and clean although struggled to get the taps to work on the sinks. We stayed in a pod which was great, could make a big platform for sleeping that had mats on it, although we put airbeds on top which made it lovely a comfy.
Our family has just had an amazing camping weekend at Crakes Tree Manor. Even though it was a bank holiday we had loads of space for our 3 tents. The site facilities are great and thoughtfully planned. The covered kitchen area was a bonus, providing a fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave and 2 sinks. The individual showers are lovely and hot and great after a days walking in the beautiful countryside. We can all recommend the pizzas and burgers, cooked fresh to order, along with the bar area, this was a good way to spend a Saturday evening. If you are looking for somewhere with that personal touch this is the place to go. Thanks to Mike and Ruth for a lovely stay.
This was just a stop of as I was travelling down through the lakes, the pod was very spacious and snug, had everything I needed for a nights sleep and rest. They offered pizza and bar but was to tired and had eaten before arrival. The amenities were great, clean and much more than I remember a campsite offering. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone solo, family or couple.
My son was getting married at a nearby venue and I was travelling solo and looking to do some wild swimming and paddleboarding on the lakes. So it made sense to find accommodation I could park next to and not worry too much about hanging my wetsuit etc about. The yellow pod was PERFECT for my needs. Basic , cool amenities. Comfortable pod. Heating. Adjacent kitchenette with fridge- freezer, microwave , kettle and sinks Spotless wet rooms / WC's with underfloor heating. Pod has a fire pit and small private seating area out front. I briefly met the owners once. Lovely couple. All for literally a fraction of the price of a hotel room down the road. The location is perfect for a wider explore of the region. I was swimming in Ullswater in less than half hour. Appleby 10-15 mins away with some decent places to eat and drink. In summer they have a bar and food on site . Would definitely stay here again. Thanks
Just had a great 3 night stay at Crake Trees Manor. The camping pods were comfortable and it was nice to have a private space and firepit available and toilets, kitchen facilities including kettle, microwave and fridges all a few yards away. Showers were perfect temperature with individual wet rooms with underfloor heating really well designed. Sinks were a bit small but fit in with the rustic theme. Fantastic location with home made pizzas, burgers and breakfasts available on the weekend. Great value for money Ruth and her hubbie were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Butchers arms just up the road served great food too, but book early to avoid disappointment. Great holiday
Quiet and wonderful campsite! We enjoyed the view over the hills, the beauty of nature around us and the excellent facilities at the campsite. The owners are very friendly, and next to their unique way of regenerative farming, they also offer music nights and pizza and burgers night! . Close to Crosby Ravensworth, which has a pub and a beautiful church with free wi-fi, and the beautiful village of Maulds Mayburn.
Just gotten back from our second trip to Crake Trees Manor. We arrived on bank holiday Monday and enjoyed three peaceful nights in the camping pods. We had the yellow and red pods for ourselves and our two older teenage boys. The site is as beautiful as ever. Though there have been many improvements since our last visit all have been done in keeping with its rustic charm. The camp kitchen is a real success and being next door was brilliant; there was a kettle to make a quick brew and wash up. We were also able to freeze our ice blocks there to keep everything cool; though there’s also a fridge. A great place to relax and explore the lakes or Yorkshire dales from. Our hosts were warm and welcoming; we’ll definitely return. Rooms: Large unit for two people sharing though it can take 3 adults we had 2 pods for 3 adults and 1 large teenager Nearby activities: Lakes and Dales Walkability: You can walk into Crosby Ravensworth and visit the pub or lovely brook
Really great camp site. Very friendly hosts. Facilities let it down a little bit, they could definitely be improved. But other than that it was a very lovely place to stay for 2 nights.Rooms: 4/5
I had a fantastic weekend break in the B&B room Demesne at Crake Trees Manor. Ruth and Mike were so friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast provided each morning was delicious and Ruth catered to my complex dietary requirements which was fantastic. The room itself was gorgeous and felt so warm and cosy, with some lovely traditional furnishings. The shower was amazing! The farm itself was so big and great to explore, and we loved the walk down to the local pub in Crosby Ravensworth. The location is fantastic - feels very secluded but still easy to explore the Yorkshire Dales. We will definitely be back - thank you!
We stayed last weekend over the bank holiday in the middle shepherd's hut. Upon arrival we were greeted by Ruth telling us the dog had to be on a lead and where she was allowed to go. She pointed to where our shepherd's hut was then asked if we were up to date with the site's Instagram page which we found strange. This was because they had announced on there that they were holding an Ibiza Rave party that night.. As this place was billed as a peaceful getaway, we were shocked. Ruth was extremely passive aggressive from the out set and rude following the messages after our stay. The rave party went on late into the night within touching distance of our hut and lazer lights and over 10 children running around us giving us no privacy unless we sat inside. The toilet block was being used for the party so was also very busy. The hot tub would have been lovely if we had any privacy, enough logs to heat it and a better siv for the bugs & water worms/leeches. I would recommend anyone staying here to do your Instagram due diligence prior to stay and have as little interaction with Ruth as possible.
