I stayed at the County this week as part of a package tour arranged by Chris Cooper travel. The hotel was pleasant and our room was basic but clean. The two things that make this hotel stand out above all others are the wonderful staff and the delicious food. Every member of staff from the chambermaids to the dining staff were friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to help guests who had mobility issues or other problems. We had breakfast and evening meal in our package and the choice was amazing. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. I would personally recommend their poached eggs on toast for breakfast-best I've ever had. I would recommend this hotel to anyone 😊

Excellent hotel. Manager most helpful person you could wish to meet. Location perfect. Close enough to walk into town but far enough away to be quiet. Wonderful period building with architectural character.

We often stay here for short breaks. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The drawback is the parking at the back and entry to the hotel is up about six stone steps which can be very difficult when bringing in luggage. There is a lift to the various floors for accommodation which is useful.

Staff were very helpful but the hotel is very tired looking. Given a refit it would be excellent
