Cornmeter Ltd. is a thriving independent business specialising in DIY materials, blinds and soft furnishings. Established as a hardware store in 1961, Cornmeter has grown and evolved to be much more. Our knowledgeable staff (with over a century of experience in the trade between them) take pride in offering our customers the kind of personal service that multiples just can`t match. Went to buy blinds. We have used them many times before so it stands to reason that they provid a great service. They come out to measure and fit. All you have to do is choose the materials. Excellent.

The greatest hardware shop known to humans. They have everything you want and high quality, reasonably priced everythings at that. They cut wood to size they support you on what you need they offer advice. They are all friendly and great. If you are doing DIY in Godalming then come here, it's the ****
Extremely helpful and knowledgable staff who go out of their way to help. A lovely local shop that is quite rare today considering all of the big department stores. Shops like B&Q, Homebase and Toolstation are gradually taking over this market and I am more than willing to pay a couple of quid extra to boost the business for shops like Cornmeter. This shop is perfect for board cutting too. Planks of wood cut to size.
For anyone who wants or need advice guidance and support in all areas of home improvement and gardening this is very much the place to go. The staff can not be more helpful and will go above and beyond to make sure you are pointed in the best direction to achieve your goal. Is they don't have it in stock they will make sure you can order what ever is needed. You can ask advice about anything and you will be given a sensible no BS answer that is normally given with genuine interest and friendliness. The times that I have been to home base or BQ to get help and advice and have walked away either more confused than when I started or sent away with completely the wrong tools or accessories. This has never happened here. This is a proper Ironmongers. They have everything you thought you needed and quite a few things that you didn't know you needed until you saw them. I could not recommend this Ironmongers more. My grandfather has been using this shop for over 40 years and because of how they conduct their business with all of there customers they have another customer for the foreseeable future too.
A superb independent DIY retailer which has supported Godalming town for so many years. Friendly and knowledgeable staff offering good advice and quality products. They have a separate curtains and blinds outlet in the High Street too
Went a few weeks back and was given great advice on installing a table in my van, went back today to buy the recommended parts and ask for advice on building a unit for the van I had the plans just wanted them to check before cutting the wood. Didn't really want to see them, very dismissive and basically told to go get something from ikea. Somewhat confused by the attitude I was certainly being friendly, needless to say I had to get both job parts sorted elsewhere. Was singing their praises and the old fashioned Ironmongers up to this point.....
Fully stocked with everything you need local iron mongers who will go beyond their way to help you find what you need. Super helpful and expert suggestions with problems etc. First stop when I need anything hardware/diy/repair related!
Handy hardware shop, as close as you're going to find like the ones we knew when we were kids. Quality stuff I've a new favourite gloss paint, thanks to them. Geek. and all the fiddly essentials that you can't get in the large warehouse style DIY places.
Knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The place to go when you don’t quite know what it is exactly that you’re looking for but .. describe a problem and they will find the solution. Forget the big sheds, this kind of specialist retailing is perfect for the high street.
