It’s just a brilliant place to go back in time, being in my early 20’s this is like a whole new world for me in a way. it’s just a good, old fashioned cinema and really gives you a glimpse of what it used to be like! Love it and the £4 ticket is quite a bargain!
First time visiting this cinema since our move, and what a lovely little place, value for money, friendly staff. We had seen a review saying it was cold and the wife took a thicker jumper. And the temperature in there was absolutely perfect. Love this place and will definitely be returning.
Yes the tickets only cost £3 pp instead of £8 pp in Newport but you literally get what you pay for! Ok it was a busy rainy day during the school holidays, which meant the seating options were limited but the cinema is old, dated, the chairs are ripped, broken and we were sold seat N1 which literally had a back and no chair! The back 3 rows are on the same level meaning you have no clear view of the screen. The sound was very low and at times hard to hear the film over the other noise in the room. The cinema is in need of a complete overhaul.
My wife and I and two friends called in one afternoon and were pleasantly surprised on how inexpensive the tickets were. Seating is comfortable, though I confess I always struggle a bit to sit for long periods myself. A lifetime of spinal abuse, often carrying more than I should, does tend to come back to haunt. Everything is clean and their is an air of 'mid-Seventies' about the place for anyone that remembers those far-gone days. My only negative, though at the price of tickets it seems almost churlish to mention it, is the quality of the image displayed on the screen. This seemed rather more due to the screen material, rather than the projection equipment and I soon became accustomed to it. In short, it is a slightly 'old fashioned' experience, with prices to match and I would like to have given it four and a half stars, were it possible to do so.
Very dismayed that nobody replied to two emails I sent. Therefore, I have no choice but to write a bad review. We have supported this cinema for many years despite it being cold and having uncomfortable seats. However, the film we saw was unwatchable. It did not fit the screen and was not lit correctly, so was so dark you couldn't see it. Due to the lack of response, sadly we will not be going back.
Enjoyed our visit to Leo leasure , we visited the cinema within. Nice little cinema, only 2 screens but had a good selection of films on throughout the day. It only cost us £20 for 5 of us to go in. We took children with us and there sweet selection did not disappoint. The food that wasent sweets was a bit limited but still OK. Only real criticism was, is that the whole place had a very old fashion feel about it and could possibly to with a make over.
What amazing value for money. £2 on a Monday evening. Such a lovely old fashioned cinema. I find the seats comfy and staff really friendly. The only down side is the flight of stairs so people with mobility difficulties would not be able to visit.
Fantastic little find on holiday, proper old fashioned cinema, comfy chairs, friendly staff and great atmosphere. £4 a ticket and all new releases shown, £2 a ticket all day Monday.....absolute bargain. Lots of sweets, snacks and drinks available if not the craft bar and cafe next door is well worth a visit too.
Fab Cinema with a sprinkle of a classic Golden age of cinema. They normaly have 3 screens open, showing 3-6 different films per day. Very good value for money as the tickets, sweets and drinks are around half the price of the multinationals too !!
I had to check if the ticket prices were correct today as they only charged me £2 Saw the new George Clooney release and it was a lovely experience in very comfortable seating. Makes a change to have such an old independent vendor and not the plastic overpriced chains. For anyone on a budget and want a no frills value for money time this is the place. Oh and there is a bingo hall next door
