Story

Combat Athlete is a martial arts and fitness gym for classes in mixed martial arts, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, submission grappling, self defence and fitness for men, women and children.

Combat Athlete offers pay as you train fees or cheaper membership options at the individual's choice. No contract fees/terms apply.

We are a family orientated club who work as a team to achieve a hard working, focused, high standard level of students. Everyone is welcome just pop in to the gym or join in one of our sessions.

Have been going to combat athlete BJJ for about 3 months as have my two children 12 and 7.  Personally I think the classes are excellent. Gav and Tristan are excellent instructors at adult and child level. The kids always look forward to going which has not been the case with other martial arts they have been to and I can see them learning and growing in confidence every week. Gav and Tristan always make an extra effort with them to keep the sessions interesting and fun.  As for me the more I go the more I enjoy it. It’s a useful life skill and excellent fitness. It can be a bit daunting at first and there is so much to learn but it is very rewarding.  All the members are friendly and helpful and the gym has a brilliant atmosphere.

I've done personal training with Gav for a couple of month now and its great. If you want to get fit but also develop all round combat skills its perfect. He will tailor skills for what you want to learn and there is a pathway to different classes if you want to go outside the PT sessions.

Benn taking my son here for almost two years now and he’s never been more excited to go regularly.

This is an amazing martial arts training facility offering great teaching in MMA and BJJ  Definitely a worth visiting and having a trial class

After a long break from ju jitsu, I started back at combat athlete doing a white collar mma event then stayed for bjj. Great club with great coach’s and team mates. Now I’m a father, I see things differently and can 1000% suggest to any parent interested in getting their children into martial arts to leave them in the very capable hands of Gav, Tristan, Corin and the other very experienced coach’s here.

Great, family run gym. Excellent place for training for adults and kids alike. My son particularly enjoys kids BJJ class. His instructor Corin is very supportive both during the training sessions and competitions. Myself I find it very satisfying to be constantly challenged by Gav and Tristan during the MMA sessions

Great place to train, the BJJ classes are top notch with brilliant people to train and spar with. Family-run school run by nice, hard working people who truly love martial arts. Training here for the last year has given me a lot, big recommendation.

Had over 75 private one to one's here, gavin and his 2 sons are highly experienced and know a great deal in martial arts and BJJ. Very flexible with times aswell, which helped as I work shifts. Best place for mma and bjj in telford.

Excellent coaching and good training partners. If you want to start new sport look no further.

Very welcoming family run gym with excellent Brazilian Jiu-jitsu classes with black belt instruction. All members are super friendly and supportive.
