Old style hotel in excellent location. Just a 5 minutes walk from train station, bus stand and ferry. Old style: small lift with iron gate doors which are hard to handle - plush breakfast room - rooms at different places - but modern bathrooms. Breakfast is a buffet with reasonable choices and nice view on quay and sea. Anyway it gives you enough energy to handle the lift :).

Great Hotel. The room was really clean with suberb view over the harbour. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.Breakfast was brill with a good choice. All in all I could not fault it.

Whilst over visiting friends in the New Year, my partner and I had booked a room at the Columba Hotel. Upon arrival, we were disgusted to find black mould growing in almost every corner of the room we were given. To the credit of management, we were given an alternative room without question, however surely this room should never have been offered to guests. Once settled into a clean room, we were disturbed in the small hours of the morning by a drunk couple entering our room. They had obviously been allocated the same room by mistake - nevertheless surely a better system would have avoided this. In addition to this, the couple were given an alternative room elsewhere on the same floor and proceeded to embark on a Jeremy Kyle-sized argument for all to hear (apparently he had been looking at some other lassie in the pub). I was aware that myself and other guests in the hotel reported this to management, however the problem continued for many hours and no sleep was had. I raised my overall complaint with management the next day who said they would look into compensation, considering how bad things were at the Columba Hotel that evening. I have chased this a number of times but have heard radio silence from management since - which is very disappointing. Oban is a great place to visit, but nobody would ever choose to stay in a dirty hotel with guests at war with each other and random drunk people being given the key to your room.

Fantastic location,excellent value and very good customer service. It's just over 100 years old and has been well looked after. Bathrooms are updated tastefully and clean. Lovely breakfast is provided. Beds not so great but for the price, it's more than acceptable. If you require elevator, it is an old elevator of course and small, I think that is a European thing though. It's about 2 blocks from train station and it is on the waterfront so you have outstanding views everywhere. We had an excellent time.

Great location but not a lot of on site parking spaces. Friendly staff and lovely building. We had a room with 2 bedrooms. Very spacious and some lovely views. Breakfast was basic but tasty and warm. All the staff we encountered were great.
