Excellent service! They printed and bound my doctorate thesis first for examination simple binding and then again for the library hard back binding. The quality of the printing and binding was excellent and I was reassured that they checked the margins and title pages etc before I went ahead with the purchase. They checked my particular university binding requirements first and everything was completed exactly as I hoped, and ahead of time. The staff were also really calm and reassuring at what was quite a tense time! Thank you!
Excellent customer service provided by the team at Collis Bird and Withey! I bound three soft copies of my PhD thesis and I could not be happier with the high quality binding and printing service they provided. I was stressed not to miss the deadline, but the team was very supportive and they were able to bind my thesis in 1 hour express service. They are familiar with all the requirements from UCL and they were even able to advise in terms of formatting. It was such a relief to rely on their service and everything was done by the hand book. Now that I passed my viva examination a look forward to bind the final copy with them and also do some bespoke personal copies. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends. Went there as a clueless student trying to get my books bound for a university project. Andrea was so kind and informative and spent the extra time with me to make sure I got my books bound perfectly within a good price range. Honestly the service was a breath of fresh air and I will be coming back for other binding services! Ultra professional and ultra nice and the books were all quality!
I have used before but now stopped, as the staff is not accommodating abrupt and rude. Also, they are overpriced and I do not recommend using them. The lady tried to charge me for 24 hours service when I asked and gave sufficient time for a 48 hour service. I travelled over 50 miles to have my thesis bound with the company, as I have used them before, but I was refused as the lady wanted upfront payment. Usually payment is payed when the job is done which makes me think that this company is hard up for cash. I was refused service because I did not pay up from. This is so not accommodating for a loyal customer. I mean, I did not travel all that way just to leave you a copy of my thesis for fun without paying. Your services is very poor and a google search would see that you are well overpriced and I am glad I went elsewhere. I think you need to learn customer service and not be so eager for quick cash.
I emailed my dissertation for printing, and of course was as nervous as could possibly be. They were calming and helpful and were fabulous at pointing out and guiding me through the process. The end product was fabulous and I seriously don't know how I would have got through the last part of the dissertation process had it not been for their support. It is not worth going anywhere else, I recommend them with my whole heart!

I have used Collis Bird & Withey to print both my MA and PhD theses. Excellent and fast service, top quality printing and binding according to your university's standards, as well as hand-stitched binding for longer theses. Always reliable in those final moments! If you are in a rush, they provide a same day service for those who like to leave things to the last minute. I definitely recommend using them!
Many thanks to Patrick and team - they have repaired a very old Bible which was so important for my Mum. They have done a wonderful job. Kept me updated at all stages. Describe exactly what they need to do etc in such precise detail. They genuinely care. Highly recommend! Thank you guys. My Mum loves her "new" Bible.
I paid for the 2 hour hard binding service which came to over £50 per copy which would be an acceptable price for a good service. When I arrived to pick them up at the arranged time, I spotted a simple and very obvious typo within the embossed title.They would have only have needed to spend 10 seconds to check it to notice this, but they obviously didn't bother. Also, the embossing on the spine was quite crooked. To be fair to them, they reprinted and bound within the next half hour, but they refused to give me a discount despite me having to pay for parking. Also, the final binding was quite badly done, the pages had been smashed up where they had been sewn along the spine. If you charge a customer for a service, you have to put things right if you mess up! Also, they don't emboss italics. Anyone with binomial species names in their title should look elsewhere to get their theses bound. It would be very simple for them to include this information on their website, but for some reason they don't seem to. I can imagine that this issue comes up daily during September and October. I came here on recommendation from a relative who gets her professional work bound here. It seems they take much less care with theses binding.
I couldn't disagree more with the person that left the negative review; my experience was quite the opposite. The price I paid was exactly the one that was advertised and I found both service and quality of binding just fine for what I needed. I felt that the person who served me was interested in helping me make the right choice, I wasn't hurried in any way and I'm very happy with the output. She even rang me while they were doing the work to check on how they were going to accommodate my slightly long wording. I feel I've got a very professional looking binding - I just hope the contents that I've written turn out to match the quality of the outside. Perhaps my supervisor will be shallow enough to judge this dissertation by its cover.
