We stayed here en route north and it broke the journey up, we also returned here on our way back home and pitched up for the weekend, it's got great pubs and visiting Stainforth Pie Shop is a must!nWeather turned so we took a tour of Skipton Castle, it's all under cover and is dog friendly, apparently one of the best preserved examples in the UK.nOK Camping, Like anything when it comes to arrival, the earlier the better the choice, if MH bays occupied just use any bay, if you occupy 2 bays then pay for two, it's still cheap and it's nice and quiet at night and there is a toilet block which opens early in the morning.
It is very close to the town centre with lots of shops and restaurants. Besides, you can also reach the beautiful canals and take boat trips very easily. The parking charge is reasonable and affordable. You can pay the fare by cash or card too!
Great car park for the town centre. We decided to stop overnight as motorhome and campervans and can pay to stop in the dedicated spaces. £5 for the night 6pm till 9pm. You then have to buy a further ticket if wanting to stop longer during the day. Great for exploring the town and very close to 5 great cask ale bars. Also on Sunday’s there is farmers market. Check what times on the Skipton Hub but it varies for the seasons but mainly 1st & 3rd Sunday. Some great traders right next to the canal. Toilets available from 9am to 7pm 7 days a week and credit to Skipton Council as they are kept very well. Note that you can give a donation and as someone with Campervan it’s a great asset to have. Will be coming back as it’s a great spot and a chance to have a good night out.
We came during the school summer holidays at 9am - 11am. There was plenty of room, the carpark was clean and near the canal and the parking was not very costly. There were also some benches where we sat and fed our 4 month old daughter.
Stayed overnight and for the day in the camper. Lots of others stayed over, too. Good atmosphere on the evening, sat out having a drink with others. There is plenty of room and very reasonably priced. Public toilets open early morning until around 8 pm. Short walk into Skipton town, with lots of things to do and places to visit.nWould go again.
