A truly appalling supermarket with grossly inflated prices. For example, a carton of soya milk at £2 can be purchased at Lidl’s for 55 pence. There are too numerous cases to mention of items which compare unfavourably with other supermarkets. The Co-op likes to play the ethical ticket but there are frequently disabled parking spaces taken up by selfish, fully ambulant drivers. The designers of the car park clearly display a staggering contempt for pedestrians as there is no walkway. Perhaps some thought should have been given to anti-discriminatory practice as it is only a matter of time before a pedestrian is seriously injured by a speeding driver. The Co-op currently has a monopoly but the sooner a Lidl’s or Aldi’s appears the better thus putting this apology for a supermarket out of business.
Lovely, well stocked shop. Friendly staff. Not busy at 4pm on Sunday. Wide aisles and good choice options.
Shocking for a coop. Never seen a supermarket with so many empty shelf, the little corner shop down the road is probably better stocked
Lots of parking spaces wasn't busy when I visited. The shelves were empty was disappointed I couldn't get what I needed.
Plenty of parking, easy to find things, pleasant attendant at the hot bakery. Cashier wasn't overly eager to serve us, as she was chatting with another member of staff. There weren't any members of staff throughout the store if you wanted help to find something.
horrible service and staff. rude, saw staff member Siobhan shoving a child.
sick fed up going in to the only local supermarket and the staff can't even be polite or crack a smile! so unfriendly! the coop standards are not what they used to be.
Probably one of the most expensive smaller supermarkets in a non city location in which I have bought food , is it because of lack of competition as there seem to be no rival outlets ? .I reckon that I could buy the same range of items from Lidl or Aldi for around £5.00 less on the £26 I paid .Plus the 10p carrier bag I bought was so thin that items pierced the plastic before I reached the car .
Very handy by car for the holiday cottage we rented for a week right on the Anstruther-Cellardyke border. Can be found up by "The Waid", diagonally opposite the original, 19th Century school building of that name, as the St Andrew's Road rises away from the water and out of town into the countryside. Plushest, airiest, downright poshest Co-op I've ever been in. Had more of the look and feel you associate with one of the series of M&S stores you find in retail parks and the like on the edges of towns these days, aimed at drivers needing more than a Tesco Metro but not as much as a Tesco Extra. Deceny range of food, snacks alcohol. Friendly, efficient staff. Not cheap - not dear. Ideal for our purposes.
No toilet facilities unfortunately but lots of products in store. Can be a cheap visit if you know what to look for but prices are more often than not more expensive than other shops. However its the biggest shop for miles and people will pay. Always clean and organised with helpfully staff.
