Sometimes selection is not great but fine for essentials
Went to this Co-op yesterday, some shopping customers not wearing mask and not keeping social distance and no staff asking them to wear a mask! Co-Op How do you plan to keep your staff and customers safe? Just putting stickers in the shop is not enough!
The store is well laid out, clean and with a good selection of goods and there are always some good offers available. However, on visits made here over a period of months, the amount of time it takes to pay for goods makes Sports Direct look like a model of German efficiency. The self service points are always, and I do mean ALWAYS out of order. There are 3 points and I cannot recall a time where there has ever been more than one operating. Today, there was one and even that was 'card only'. There is only ever one sales assistant at the staffed checkout who must be run off their feet being the sole person responsible for serving customers and sorting out the 'unexpected item in the baggage area' problems. I once went in there for a bottle of water, knowing I had 8 minutes to catch the bus right outside and despite it not being busy, I had to abandon the purchase. Note to management: This is not an isolated issue. Those machines are not fit for purpose. Get rid of them and hire more people to staff the tills.
I will NEVER shop here again. The manager, at least I think that he is the manager rude to me for the second time- so, I buy a few wine a week from the store, considering that I walk past Sainsbury's and Tesco - they have a wine that I like. I do my main shopping in Sainsbury's. The first time the "manager" took away a reduced item and falsely accused me of changing the label saying that, "Customers will buy cheap food and expensive alcohol.." I also work as a chef, so, if I see a reduced item, I will buy to try it out. Yesterday evening I was at the store, he served me and I know that he was talking about me in his language! Imagine a super market like the COOP being run as a family business. Rude and unprofessional! I work hard not to spend my money in a place like this branch of the COOP - I live five minutes from Sainsbury's and I would rather shop there as the staff are professional.
I dont know what is happening at the coop east barnet lately never seem to have much 50/50 bread in i went there today at 10.30i the morning and there was none in fact there was hardly any bread when i asked where the 50/50 bread was i was told the manager had only ordered a few this keeps happening i may not be giving the coop my custom anymore which is a shame as i am o ly 5 minutes away unless you can get a manager that can order what the customer wants i know of many people in the village who are complaining and feel the same as me ,i shall from now on go to aldi as it is just a few minutes away
Takes too long to purchase just a couple of essentials as self checkout always out of order and assistant in counter trying to assist them instead of dealing with que at checkout. Short staffed, non convenience defeats the object!
Bad service, the prices on the shelves says one price and then when it is to pay, it says on the till a completely different price. When I pay they always give the wrong change. Try to avoid this place very unprofessional and try to keep extra change for themselves
Really nice to finally have that filthy old Budgens replaced! Lovely, new, clean, well stocked and pleasant Co-Op. I even got a smile from the shop assistant!
Excellent service they rectified an error with no fuss very good service. Will definitely be shopping there again
