We arrived Sunday night and found out the kitchen was closed. But the night Porter put three steaks on for us and served a brilliant meal. We found out later on he'd had a lumbar puncture in the day. Well impressed at the commitment of the staff. All friendly and rooms are nice with comfortable beds

Excellent funeral reception lunch. Impeccable staff, extremely pleasant surroundings and decor. Food was superb, well presented, fresh and tasty. Recommended highly.

Staff could be more efficient. Instead of standing talking. No one at the bar, had to keep asking for someone to come and serve me. On a plus note, popped in for coffee one afternoon and the girl who served me was very pleasant and attentive.

Staff were great. I had a good nights sleep although the bed could do with a new mattress, bathroom was great but they need to look at the plug. The breakfast was amazing really great quality produce. The evening meal was also good but a little over priced for what you get. On the whole a good experience not my taste in design but I did have a good night.... it gets a 4 because of the breakfast.

One night BBEM was delightful. Needed a step to get up on the bed in room 4. We had a brilliant 3 course dinner for a very reasonable £25 per head. Breakfast was equally as good with a wide selection of cereals nuts, fruit etc. Mine was a full English breakfast cooked exactly as requested. My good lady had eggs benedict described as "perfect". The evening meal menu changes daily a big plus. Slight down side, there had been a wedding the day before and most of the beers and lagers had been drained. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The bar man was knowledgeable and informative about thd latest gin craze.
