It's the worst station to go through. All the time, they are running into issues, and the trains are always canceled, and not just 1 or 2 in a series of 5 6 trains altogether are canceled. Being one of the connecting stations, they should be more proper with their schedule. It quite frustrating being to go through this. Hope the railways can see this as important issue.
One of the world’s busiest train stations. I’ve been trapped here lots of times with weather, strikes and just UK nonsense BUT station is always clean, it’s got visible, helpful and professional staff. There are concession stands on every platform and it runs well. They’re working towards making every platform accessible and there are always tons of train spotters here
Why is it that it only seems to be access to the lifts from the taxi drop off area. I'm pretty sure there were lifts from the ground floor up to the platforms. Because every time I've gone through there via bus, we've had to carry our suitcases up those mammoth stairs. And I'm pretty sure there used to be lifts down stairs, so where have they gone?
Trainspotter dream station. With the regeneration, food stalls and more punctuality, Clapham Junction has improved a lot. New screens are easy to view trains stops and times. The toilets have been moved to upstairs, by platform 16. New Lifts and sheltered roof onto the platforms. Seemed cleaner than ever. Shame the free WiFi is only once inside the trains and seating is scarce. Bonus are the new shops and snacks places leased onto the 'bridge' linking all the platforms.
I wanted to inform you that there are no trains or Overground services available from Clapham Junction to Canada Water today. Unfortunately, when I tried to get information from the staff member in the cabin, SHE WAS OCCUPIED WITH WATCHING FOOTBALL ON HER PHONE and did not attend to me or an older lady who also needed information. This is not the first time that such an incident has occurred, as the same thing happened last Saturday, and I had to pay extra and go to Victoria to get home. My concern is that we are paying extra to TFL when we have the option of buying a Zone 2-4 ticket or any other appropriate zone ticket. It seems as though very few people are willing to provide information, and more staff are present to get paid for doing nothing.
Clapham Junction railway station was really a miracle station for my wife & I on 24 May 2023 when after a long and exhausting Transatlantic flight to London, boarding the British National Railroad train south bound, we've lost one of our backpack with the most expensive staff in it like brand new Apple laptop and all our documents including our passports and much more valuable documents. A young samaritan in the same wagon told us not to be worry about, as the Station workers will find it and return it us back. Miraculously 30 min later, after we've got back to the same platform, one of the employees of that station, handed our backpack back intact, nothing was missing in it. Thank YOU G-d, Thank you UK, Thank you London, Thank you GOOD Londoners!!! We LOVE you and we'll be definitely back soon!
If I could give 0 stars I would. Staff are very unhelpful and patronising They don’t even know what train is on what platform for a start. They sent me and my partner to a platform which was wrong so we missed our train. The next one was 40 minutes later. We left the station to get a cab but it was so busy we couldn’t get one, I tried to go back through the barriers after topping up my oyster and they said I had to wait 30 minutes whilst my partner already went through. I topped up another £10 and it still didn’t work so they told me to use the machine to top it up again so now I’m on £25 still didn’t work. I’ve never known people to be so thick and unhelpful. I had to use my bank card on the barrier. What is the point having Oyster cards if you have to use your bank card. Absolutely ridiculous and I’m so appalled by the way they were treating me infront of other members of the public. South west trains really need to look at who they are employing and train their staff on how to deal with situations and what good people skills is.
Absolutely terrible service from the train ticket officers. I had pre purchased a ticket online to save money as I am an Australian travelling. I did not realise you needed the physical card you used to print off the ticket, as I have had it printed at a ticket office before. They refused to help, even though I know they are able to print it. I had the receipt as proof of purchase. I had to beg to be let through the gate as my train was minutes from departing. As someone who is living in a foreign country and unaware of these procedures as it is different at every station, I was appalled. They were making a scene by not letting me through and other members of the public, were also baffled by the fact they would not let me in. They eventually opened the gate for me to go though after minutes of pleading. If I could give them a 0 I honestly would. They do not even deserve a 1.
A lovely lady, Antonia, kept the people in the waiting area on platform 10 amused with her chatting and loud speaker comments. e.g. "A four carriage train with eight doors to choose from" A true treasure of the station.
Inadequate toilet facilities for the size of station - nothing in the platforms, you have to go upstairs and over ti the far side of the station. Retail selection is okay if. You want a coffee but not much available in the way of hot food. I’ve always found the staff to be efficient there.
