Beginners course with Julian Starting a new sport in my 30s felt intimidating, but Julian made us all feel incredibly welcome. Beginners class with a group of 6 women, met a lot of new tennis partners and am eager to continue in the sport. Julian has a great, humorous way of teaching which made us all feel at ease with our beginners skills. I really took away a lot from those classes, have continued to play tennis since and am looking forward to joining his classes and/or travel tennis camps in the future. Thanks, Julian, for making Tennis accessible to everybody!
I started lessons with Julian 15 years ago when I was new to London and fairly new to tennis. I kept coming back to training with him over all these years because not only has he helped me improve my level significantly I enjoy playing a lot more now and my win rate has gone up but he has also introduced me to life long friends through his tennis trips. As a coach, he is patient, incredibly knowledgeable, careful to help me recover whenever I am injured usually because I also play football and great fun - I really enjoy our conversations. Thank you Julian and really looking forward to continuing to improve my tennis with you.
I've been attending group tennis coaching lessons with Julian since January 2022 past 7 months and they're the highlight of my week. Started as a complete beginner who could barely hit the ball over the net and now in the improver / intermediate level class...Really enjoy his coaching style - professional, personable and encouraging. I was nervous about attending group lessons with strangers in case I was the worst in the group having never been sporty at school but immediately felt comfortable at his lessons despite being the most inexperienced AKA managed to hit a number of tennis balls over the high fences outside of the court onto the common!
I started group tennis lessons with Julian as a complete beginner back in February with two other girls and have made massive improvements with Julian’s coaching. I now have a solid understanding of all tennis shots, feel confident playing with my more experienced friends and moved up to the intermediate level classes. The group coaching lessons are always fun and Julian tailors his approach to each persons level / areas they want to improve. Massive thanks to Julian and looking forward to the next block of lessons!
Started as a total beginner with Julian in October last year. He is very good at breaking down the shots, movements etc in a way that really clicks with me. We are making a lot of progress and I am enjoying the game a lot! Thank you Julian!
A few months ago a friend and I signed up to the beginner group lessons with Julian. We have loved it. We are now on our third set of courses, and plan on continuing. Julian is great!

If you've missed the humiliation of PE and would like to give sport another go - try Julian's! I didn't even finish the lessons I had paid for. If you don't like teaching beginners and/ or women - it's very easy, don't! This is exactly why women give up on sports. The other trainer was actually lovely but I didn't want to keep subsidising Julian's patronising business model of berating paying beginners for being bad.
Great for a spot of tennis didn't need to book waited 30 minutes for a court on a beautiful summer evening
