Very cute cafe. A bit pricey but all the proceedings get donated to a very good cause. Nice big fluffy pastries although I feel like they don’t need to be individually wrapped in plastic. Great customer service and they always give my doggie a treat.
Amazing new neighbourhood cafe where all proceeds are donated to the local charity supporting low income families in the area, and they only sell high quality, locally sourced products. Variety of Coffee, sandwiches, sweet treats and other drinks. Plenty of outdoor seating. Incredibly proud to have this cafe on my doorstep.
This is meant to be a tennis centre, but the management have stopped tennis players from using the ball machines and changing rooms and the space. If you want to use the toilet you have to ask the cafe staff which is ridiculous. Why are tennis players paying membership to Be Active when it's no longer a tennis centre? This property is owned by Southwark Council I believe. Who agreed to close it as a tennis centre and turn it into a cafe? This is not a reflection on the cafe staff, many of whom are lovely and friendly....
Well maintained courts, friendly players, easy to navigate booking website and right next to a lovely cafe!
Be warned that despite this being a cafe, they are claiming that the toilets are not for public use. Even the disabled toilets. The sign says that those using tennis facilities may use the toilets and directs everyone else to the toilets a mile away at the other end of the park. I have used these when necessary for years, and this is actually quite ridiculous. Especially as there seems to be space in the corridor to store a motorbike.
Great facilities for a very good price. Easy to book online but you need to get in early as court spaces are realised 7 days early and are currently going fast. My only suggestion would be to increase the height of the dense mesh to practice court wall so balls don't easily slip between that and the old high fence.
It's a shame this isn't a tennis center any more - no changing rooms or facilities for the tennis players, ball machines not available any longer. It's now just a cafe.
What a transformation the new manager Franco with his home made cakes panini cupcakes flapjacks Italian coffee . Fresh flowers on tables and welcoming atmosphere . I Will be back and back yummy fresh food
Great local club with league matches and 7 courts to book
I've been visiting this place the last couple of months. It's great, I highly recommend it.
