The tall barman was the star of the show so lovely, helpful and nothing was too much. The dog menu, treats and water for dogs is splendid. The beer is good but for the food it was bog standard and very small would not eat there again such a shame.
A fantastic pub with excellent food and amazing staff who made sure all of our needs were met. We went here for Christmas and they really did everything to make the day great.
Visited last Saturday on a friend’s recommendation, did not disappoint! Food was delicious - excellent value for money, great atmosphere and lovely decor. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly or welcoming! Will definitely be coming back more often!
Visited while down with some friends and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Food was fantastic and the service was also excellent. We were served by Joy, who was so pleasant and helpful, and nothing was an issue. It turns out she is the new manager, and what a figurehead she is. Recommend any visitors to go see the team at the Church View.
This is a lovely pub, if I'm honest. I come here quite often to have a drink with mates. The food is also great, with a wide variety of choices on the menu. Sometimes, it can get too busy, but that's not a problem if you book, but most of the time, you can just walk in. Overall, I come here quite often and I've never had any trouble.
Lunch on Xmas day was appalling. We waited 2 hours for the main. The food was awful one appeared just a steak on a plate no chips or sides. Chips finally arrived after everyone was served. Kids menu very slapdash frozen rubbish. 4 desserts never came! We had to clear the table ourselves as no service. In a word diabolical. 3-30 was booked got out at 7 pm half party left as could not wait any longer. Pub itself meant to close at 5-30 pm. Would appreciate a response
Arrived on time, table wasnt ready, menu had at least 6 items not available. No cheese, no mushy peas, no fish and chips, no beef pie, no mushrooms, no curry! Was charged for a side of mushrooms they didnt have stock of! Steak was overcooked. Waited 1.30hrs for food to arrive after we had to ask where it was. Terrible. Would not return.
Relief manager was fab, couldn't do enough! All round nice chap, very friendly and great service.Food was ok, poor quality ingredients.Oil needs changing! Very small portions for the price charged.Wouldnt eat there again unless things improve greatly.Took far too long.
Roast dinners are absolutely gorgeous, and the yorkies were delish. Manager chef Jason has them spot on. Staff are always lovely too and work very hard. Definitely be back next Sunday.
Very busy poorly staffed pub. We booked a table and could not find it names on wipe cards for you to find yourself. We asked a member of staff who told us where our table was. It was occupied by drinkers and we had to explain we had pre booked it. Ordered food eventually 2 staff behind bar, after 55 minutes waiting, we were advised there would be a wait for food to arrive We were presented with our three meals, two steaks and lasagne. The steaks were on uninviting green plates, with 10 chips and three onion rings. No garnish . My steak was mostly gristle . The lasagne came with "garlic" bread, I use the word lightly and it was left on the plate. A staff member came to take the plates as we were leaving and asked if everything was ok. I explained we were disappointed and why. She asked me what I wanted her to do and not what she could do to make amends. We had eaten the meals as we were hungry before and after eating and just wanted to leave. It was my first time here and will be my last as my first impression of this place is very low.
