Probably the best fish and chips in Essex...... and beyond!

Story

Chris' is a family run takeaway business in Rayleigh, with another shop in Brentwood due to open soon.

We see our business as more than just a 'chippy', but an establishment that provides delicious, freshly cooked food to order as fast as we can. Our Jack Daniels style Tennessee BBQ ribs have built up something of a cult reputation among the locals, along with our fresh fish cooked in a very light, crisp batter.

We had read the reviews online and thought we would try the fish and chips. The first visit we were disappointed and hungry as the shop was closed. We hadn’t read the opening times and our goal was a late lunch. Today we telephoned our order through and drove the journey from Eastwood to Rayleigh. My DH was greeted in a friendly manner when he arrived and the food was ready. The fish was moist, flaky,fresh and the batter light and crispy. The chips were perfect but portion very large. We didn’t quite manage to eat it all but our lurcher helped to finish some of the fish minus the batter, she is watching her figure! Keep up the good work guys we certainly will be back.

My personal favourite chippy whilst in Essex. Nice, fresh produce and good quantities. Looking forward to my next visit

I have never tasted food like it before, the jack daniels burger was beautiful and the ribs where out of this world, it’s so clean what is a plus and the staff are so so friendly

Don't know what the fuss is about to be honest. Good, clean, fresh add is expected anywhere, but didn't wow me. No gluten free option they didn't care, enough business apparently. Plenty other local places as good

Best fish and chips around not once have we had a bad meal. I would highly recomend it to any one.
