Chichester Festival Theatre

About

Chichester Festival Theatre is one of the United Kingdom's flagship theatres, with a dazzling international reputation.

Story

Chichester Festival Theatre is one of the UK’s flagship theatres, renowned for the exceptionally high standard of its productions as well as its work with the community and young people. Situated in the lively and beautiful cathedral city of Chichester, the Festival Theatre’s bold thrust stage design makes it one of England’s most striking playhouses; a studio theatre, the Minerva Theatre, sits nearby.

The annual summer Festival season runs from April to October, during which productions originated at Chichester reach an audience of over 200,000 and frequently transfer to the West End. Year-round programming continues through the winter with the Theatre presenting high-class touring productions, as well as a traditional Christmas show mounted by the renowned Chichester Festival Youth Theatre.

Rooted firmly in its community, the Theatre runs a Learning, Education and Participation (LEAP) programme that is a beacon of excellence and inspiration to its local audience, as well as being home to one of the country’s largest youth theatres with over 750 members.

We went to the opening night of Oliver. Wow, it was amazing. Fagin was outstanding as was Nancy. A great cast all round.nWe love Chichester Festival Theatre. It has great shows, never disappointing.nWe also had drinks negotiated in the Minerva Bar across the way where we saw what we thought was a kids birthday party but it turned out they were the child cast for Oliver including Oliver himself.
This is not normally where I would frequent for my entertainment, however went with some friends to see Oliver at CFT. Amazing performance never seen anything like it really enjoyed my baptism into going to the theatre, will definitely look to visit again.
I saw the production of Oliver here recently, well received by the audience who filled the theatre. i sat to the side on the balcony i felt having an Ariel view was a good way to see everything. Topped the fact the show was performed on an incredible stage!
We were celebrating a dear friends birthday and went to see Oliver. It was such a wonderful and professional show. Cast was beyond amazing. I would encourage everyone to see it. Theatre was amazing. So good to be close to the stage
We had great seats to front left but still good view. Performance of Oliver! was fantastic. Imaginative scenery, great cast Fagin stand-out performance.
