Story

Chichester Festival Theatre is one of the UK’s flagship theatres, renowned for the exceptionally high standard of its productions as well as its work with the community and young people. Situated in the lively and beautiful cathedral city of Chichester, the Festival Theatre’s bold thrust stage design makes it one of England’s most striking playhouses; a studio theatre, the Minerva Theatre, sits nearby.

The annual summer Festival season runs from April to October, during which productions originated at Chichester reach an audience of over 200,000 and frequently transfer to the West End. Year-round programming continues through the winter with the Theatre presenting high-class touring productions, as well as a traditional Christmas show mounted by the renowned Chichester Festival Youth Theatre.

Rooted firmly in its community, the Theatre runs a Learning, Education and Participation (LEAP) programme that is a beacon of excellence and inspiration to its local audience, as well as being home to one of the country’s largest youth theatres with over 750 members.

A diverse range of shows on offer here, which I would think will appeal to a wide range of people. Tidy modern interiors and a good view of the stage even from the relatively cheap seats give a more intimate feel to the performances than you might otherwise expect.nnReturn visit, and the staff were especially helpful and accommodating to the needs of our group. Definitely an experience we would want to repeat.nPlentiful parking in the adjacent Northgate Car Park.
This is such a lovely theatre. You have the main theatre and just across from it is the smaller Minerva theatre. Both are hexagon shape and tiered on each level. There's plenty of parking although you have to pay to park even in the evening. There's toilets and snacks and cafes. The staff are always friendly. Also it's just next to Oakland's park if you're coming with kids.nnWe also came for the SEN Santas grotto which was amazing. They checked about noise levels and needs. My son had the whole grotto to himself which has interactive things and Santa was amazing. Would highly recommend.
We saw the last performance of Top Hat on Saturday and what an amazing performance it was too! Totally faultless and witty to the end. Everything dance was so very precise. Outstanding! Thank you.nChichester is my family home and I have been coming to the theatre since a young girl. Wonderful theatre!
A truly amazing place to visit and I would highly recommend it to everyone. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful making sure that we had everything we needed and making sure we knew where our seats were. The lady selling the ice cream was incredibly friendly as well and served us very quickly. The whole front of house team were amazing including the lovely lady that got us out tickets.nnThe production itself was truly magical and amazing.
A pleasant theatre at Chichester North Gate area. There is a car park within very short walking distance from the venue, while the train station is about 20 minutes walk away. The venue feels more modern than others. There is a cafe and various kiosks around the venue, and toilets available for customers. Staff were very helpful and polite.
