Took the lad to Chelsea for a tour. Neither of us are Chelsea fans but we're interested in football generally so we went along to see what it was all about. Museum has some cool history of the ground and teams, lots of things to see and some interactive exhibits. Tour guide was charismatic and engaging knew the general facts but could have done with being more knowledgeable on the obscure stuff for an even better experience. Obviously you're going to be paying a lot and it would definitely be better spent on Chelsea fans. However, it was interesting enough and. We got to experience enough that I don't begrudge the price.
Well, my visit was to witness a 1-0 victory over a Tony Pulis Stoke City side, but my main aim was to visit the ground and sample the overall experience, so no harm done! Having lived and worked nearby back in the ‘90s, both the look of the ground and the fortunes of the club have changed fairly dramatically. In fact it was hard to think of all of those acres of space around the goal area, complete with those three wheeled light blue mobility vehicles and the, albeit pretty standard amongst all grounds at the time, quagmire pitch. The only real resemblance of any of this being the outside wall of the old Shed end. Nowadays, the ground is much more modern and a corporate even at the Bridge just after the first phase of its most recent transformation, inspired a career surge that of my own that many a recent Chelsea great would be proud of! The atmosphere was good considering the aims of the visitors, of whom I have no axe to grind, by the way, the essential home victory was eventually achieved without too much drama or tension and I had seen the ground, there was some daylight left and the rest of south-west London beckoned. Perfect!
Great time watching the football got to see 6 goals. Food and drinks on site what are not bad at all. Toilet facilities as well. Just a bit of a mission to get to the west upper. Loads of stairs to climb. All in all a great experience for any football lover
Chelsea v Argyle!! What a day out. All quite surreal. Probably one of the best away days ever. Smart stadium with excellent views and safe standing in the away end my first experience which was great. Good stewards. Concourse pretty cramped and not impressed with exiting after match. They seemed to keep the away fans locked in. Even so, it was slow and very cramped....not sure what they do for quick exit in a fire situation. You were lucky. But for covid you would be travelling to Plymouth for a replay...We outsang them from beginning to end. Champions of Europe? You're avin a laugh!!
A decent stadium that needs increasing in size and improving but does the best with what its got. Included in these images and to be found in the musuem is a model of the new stadium. The stadium tour is a 10 out of 10 and highly recommended.
WOW, what an experience - we watched the game vs Brentford and it was a fantastic stadium experience - well organized, great food and drinks, very polite staff - we will be back for sure for this great team! Unfortunately, the shops were closed due to restrictions regarding Abramowitch, Nevertheless it was a great experience!
My husband wanted to visit his favourite club, even though i had no interest in football. But i liked it there, Only problem i had was climbing a lot of stairs holding the baby because there was no lifts
I did the stadium tour at Stamford Bridge and its a really interesting tour. You get to sit in the stand with excellent views of the stadium, you get to visit the home dressing room, walk out the tunnel and sit in the managers chair in the dugout. You also get into the press room and can have your picture taken.
Great atmosphere against London minnows Spursey, they made a game of it while being outclassed by a far superior Chelsea 2x champions League winners. Great goal by new boy koulibaly ,bang what a rocket. Refs unfortunately had had brains removed when checking VAR results, so ending in a disappointing draw. Great atmosphere.great game, shocking refereeing.Chelsea FC the place to be 5
I’ll start by saying, I’m not one tiny bit interested in Chelsea FC or football as a whole, however as one of our kids wanted to visit the grounds we booked a tour. Honestly - this was fantastic. James the guide was super friendly, kind, knowledgable and entertaining. I highly recommend the tour for fans and none fans too
