Lovely little campsite - great pitches, clean facilities and friendly owner :nnLocation is great too - just at the bottom of the village so walking distance to local pubs and shops. You are also right by the gorge, the caves, the reservoir and the old railway line, so plenty of places to walk as well. Perfect base to explore this lovely part of Somerset - dont forget to buy some cheese :

First time we have visited this site.  Friendly and helpful welcome. The site is small but well set out. The facilities are clean and well maintained. There are a number of walking opportunities from the site. We only stayed for 2 nights so we only had one full day to go on a big walk, so we walked to the Cheddar reservoir. We walked round the reservoir which has 360° views of the area. We also followed the footpath along the Cheddar Yeo. We enjoyed our short stay and would return for more walking experiences.

The site itself is small and intimate. It's immaculately kept with clean washroom facilities, pot wash and laundry room. I love the site. It has a very pleasant dog walk directly off site. However, the village of Cheddar is on the other side of a very busy road with huge lorries and narrow pavements. It's not a nice walk into the village. It's a real tourist trap and wasn't my cup of tea. The gorge is beautiful though and quite spectacular. If you are into hill walking, it would be ideal. About 30 mins drive away is England's smallest city, Wells. What a difference. Beautiful architecture and pleasant pedestrian areas for relaxing with a coffee or a pint, well worth the excursion.

A clean, friendly and tidy site with the usual CAMC perfect pitch spacing. The walk into the town of Cheddar was less than 10 minutes which was very convenient for eating out for dinner at the Bath Arms. The bathroom got a bit crowded in the morning, maybe they were just a particularly clean cohort staying at the same time as us

We camped here with our motorhome and had a good stay,quiet, clean, friendly, walking distance to shops and we walked to the caves as well.nWe were concerned that both facility blocks only had 4 showers, but although the site was busy we never had to wait for one. If we were back in that area we would use it again. It has a small shop at reception selling basics and some limited camping equipment like pegs etc. Bus from town to Wells & Weston Super mare and less frequent to Street
