Really great service from Nigel who was really helpful in suggesting how we could reduce the hearth and surrounds of our current gas fire without having to replace the whole thing. Fitting was fantastic, and helped to improve the pipework we had in situ to leave us with nothing showing. Clean working and very little to sort after. Cannot recommend enough.
A great range of products. I Brought a fire, mantelpiece and hearth. It looks incredible and was given so much help and advice from Lorraine and her colleagues. Friends and Family love the optimist effect. Would recommend the company to anyone.
Fantastic service from both Nigel and Adam. Initially visited the showroom and Nigel spent time with us, listening to our requirements and suggesting appropriate wood burners. No pressure to buy. We were happy with our quote, and went ahead. It was installed today, on the day agreed, and the installation went smoothly. Nigel and Adam took care to cover everything nearby with pristine dust sheets, removed the old wood burner, installed a new flue liner, installed the new wood burner, put up cowls on all our chimneys, and even moved the heavy old wood burner upstairs willingly and without a grumble. And tidied up thoroughly before they left. We couldn't have had a better experience.
Fantastic service from start to finish. I needed an ancient Powaflue fire replaced and after visiting the showroom by appt and being guided through the options I went with a great electric fire that looks massively realistic and really complements the room. From the pre-sales advice to the installation team marvellous the whole experience was a pleasure. I would really recommend these guys. Truly an independent, local, family run business you can trust and support.
Superb service from Lorraine, Nigel and the rest of the team. Lorraine was so helpful as we weren't really sure what we wanted, she walked us through all the options until we finally made our choice. The installation also went extremely well, Adam did a great job he had to fix the existing hole in the wall before putying the new fire in and cleaned up after him. The new fire looks lovely we're so pleased. Thank you. Definitely recommend.
After our initial visit to the Hockliffe Street showroom, we chose a fire & fireplace. Nigel duly visited our house & measured but found our original choice of fire wouldn't work where it had to go. After a great deal of research, Nigel rang us with another option which would give us the look we desired. This morning, Nigel & Adam arrived on time & started working immediately. Despite a very hot day, they were thorough, polite and worked at a steady pace all day. They then cleared up behind them before they left. My husband and I are absolutely thrilled with the fireplace & log gas fire. It looks stunning. Thank you both for your advice, hard work & excellent workmanship. Highly recommend Character Coving! Extremely happy with all stages of the job planning - our visit to the Hockliffe Showroom, the provision of the quotation and the visit to our home in Dunstable to take measurements and confirm the suitability of our choice. Nigel and Adam carried out the installation on the day agreed with great care and attention to detail. I have dealt with Character Coving for over 20 years as I am a builder/property developer and always require supply and installation of fireplaces, surrounds, fires and stoves. I feel the negative review left 2 months ago is not a true reflection of their business and really does them an injustice. I have always received excellent customer service from this small family run company. They are reliable and knowledgeable about their products. The fitters are well qualified and experienced in all ranges of fitting. I recommend them for any work within this field and would never hesitate to do so.
