This is a review of my recent experience with Channel Cars Folkestone and their airport service. A group of us flew out in early October on the weekend that Monarch airlines went under. As a result of that, I had to change our taxi booking a couple of times. The staff in the office couldn't have been more helpful. I even got a call the day before departure to confirm our pick up. On arrival at Gatwick, we paid the driver as instructed by the office and headed off on our break. On our return on Monday 09 October, our booked taxi wasn't there. I called the office and was told they had cancelled the taxi because we hadn't paid the driver (who had taken us to the airport) for the return. This is because neither the office nor the driver told us this. I visited the office the next day and met with Lee, the office manager. I can only describe what next happened as the most appalling customer service I have ever experienced. Lee told me I was a liar (his words) when I told him I hadn't been told either by the office or the driver that I had to pay in advance. When I said that there were others in the taxi who could support my position, he told me we were all liars! He said the driver had told him that I had refused (his words) to pay. When I asked why I would refuse to pay them £95 for the return journey and instead hire an airport taxi for £193 to be taken home, he said that was my choice. When I said that Channel cars had clearly made a mistake by cancelling our taxi and that I would be willing to receive as an apology the difference in fares, he showed me the door and asked me to leave. I have since emailed the company twice asking to speak to the owner/ director but have not had a reply. If the office manager is a reflection of the management at Channel Cars Folkestone and how it deals with genuine customer complaints, the owner/ director(s) should be ashamed. I would not recommend Channel cars just in case you too have a genuine complaint or concern and have to experience the office manager's shameful attitude to its customers.

Channel cars charged me the most for the same trip. I paid £9 for the trip I normally pay only £6! I work for the business where we often call taxi for our customers and we have many complaints about this company because of overcharging. Use at the own risk. Also taxi was 8 minutes late even It was prebooked 45minutes ahead. Unreliable and expensive, if I could give 0 I would.

Worse taxi company.. not only they overcharge to customers but also cheats drivers (employees)by giving under the table jobs to the Drivers who then give them return favour by bringing food .. .this company runs on favourism system...and also some of their drivers don’t have right to stay/work in UK..I don’t know how they employee them ...!!will never recommend to use/work for..!!
