At first glance the Art Deco entrance doesn’t seem like your typical Indian restaurant. And when you enter, the tables have white tablecloths and the room has a subdued atmosphere. The menu is very varied and starting with crispy poppadoms with four relishes was a treat. We had the lamb Rogan Josh, garlic chilli chicken, Bombay aloo nan and rice. Portions were such that we rapidly devoured all the dishes each of which had their own special flavour and heat. A cobra beer and a shared gulab jamun rounded off a delicious meal. Service was attentive. All in all a vert pleasant evening.
Stopped here to pick up dinner while visiting London as our hotel was down the street, and it was fantastic! Able to get our order in right away and everyone was super friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced! I wish we had encountered this place sooner, because we definitely would've made more than one stop there; but sadly, we didn't find it until the last day of our trip. Highly recommend!
I let the waiter order for me. good lamb stew that they served to the table, very nice with bread and rice. lovely place for company. recommend it
I had a very nice meal. Carrot soup with coriander, yummy, and Chicken curry. Chicken was very moist and tasty, not too spicy hot and rice. Rice comes as a separate menu item be sure to purchase Service was great. I brought home enough for lunch the next day. An added note - during this quiet meal, a fellow patron in his a booming London accent announced “the queen is dead”. I shall never forget.
Super friendly and competent staff, excellent food! I highly recommend it
I had an early evening meal, so there were plenty of free seats. I had a starter of poppadoms with chutneys, followed by one of the tastiest Tandoori mixed grills I have ever had. It came with a complimentary naan bread. With a large bottle of ice cold beer, which was perfect, the whole meal with service charge was circa thirty pounds. I thought that was pretty good for London. I will be back!
The food is really good. But I ate here alone I didn't feel welcome at all. All they were saying to me was, "buy more, take more food" while a main dish with naan is enough. Really bad experience, I noticed them being much more friendly to bigger groups which bring more money in the tray. Although single person table are actually pretty profitable because they become vacant much more quickly. Food: 5/5 Service: 1/5 Result: 3/5
Dined here since we stayed at Mercure next door. Highly pretentious restaurant with all Bangladeshi waiters even though they said it's Indian restaurant. Asked for lamb on the bone which is the authentic way to eat Indian curry and they said all their meat is boneless. It is suited to the white audience and taste is watered down. I would not recommend this place
Very friendly staff, good food. My daughter said that it was the best chicken Tikka she has ever had. Reasonable priced but they add service charge onto your bill xx
Good is decent if bit exceptionally flavorful. Waiters quite pushy. Trying to scam you when paying by entering the wrong amount. And they realize it as soon as you want to see the bill again.Food: 4/5
