Went into store to trade in 2 items for voucher price 2 days ago and still have yet to receive the voucher! I do not have the time to make the 1hour journey it takes to ask to be sent my voucher. And of course their phone number doesn’t work
Over-priced products, poor service, rude staff. First how are you going to sell the PS5 for 480-565 second hand when curry's has the device in stock brand new for 449 -579 with two games new? Second how am I going to walk into your store looking for assistance and I'm ignored the whole time I am in the store? Third, when I do finally get to speak with a member of staff why are they so aggressive and acting like they are better than you and you are wasting their time? Forget this over priced store went to currys and picked up the PS5 for less with a new game and brand new. Never going back to CEX.
Horrible experience @Barking. Having shopped with CEX for over a decade, this was the worst experience to date. From trying to buy my item at a lower price than advertised despite it being well looked after, the 'tester' seemed intent on not taking my item after the store manager overrided him and told him to buy it from me at the regular price. The tester literally nit picked at tiny things then decided 'it's faulty' after the manager left, then colded handed everything back without making eye contact or further communication. I normally don't leave reviews, however there seemed to be an insidious prejudice with this 'tester', as soon as he saw me so you can draw your own conclusions. I will follow up this review with a detailed complaint to CEX head office, however shoppers need to be aware of potential prejudice with this particular staff member at Barking.
So my phone was stolen and this appears to be where it ended up. Just want to talk with someone, but email, phone, aren’t working. Gotta do better
Took a monitor in, got told they are only doing bank transfers which is no good if u need cash fast, if anything cex ilford is better then barking, also took fire sticks in and got told they don't work, the tester tried them on his phone, took them to ilford branch and they worked fine
Come in today with headphones lady took few mins not no hello no good morning so not a great morning approach she hand checked my headset did not connect did not check anything online via model number or serial run her hands over it to tell me it’s fake and to go cash converter they would take it from you wich confused me as I was told cex was meant to be good from a friend but I jumped the buss to ilford and Dalston cex and both men working there quoted 52 pounds and 77 on voucher I even went to cash converter in Stratford and spoke to a manager who did back ground checks and verified it was originally and said sorry I had to travel so far to just verify my headphones never coming back I recomend ilford cex or dalton or even cash converts they offer a buy back service are so much politer and friendly and understanding to cost of living amazing cex staff also in ilford please be aware! I have six years customer service experience a smile and hello can go so far on a rainy day!!!
Best CeX in the area by far. Staff actually seem interested in technology and care about what they do, unlike a lot of other ones where the staff are plucked off the street and have no clue what you're giving them to sell.
so fast xD: I took my oculus to them, they kept it for one day, and in the end of the day, they told me that almost new vr set did not connect on the usb port in their test. Surprised I brought this vr home, plug it in and what? Everything works great XD, these "specialist" have a damaged USB port in their store ultra testing machine or something else. Btw, the boy who tested my oculus is some extra kind of store IT specialist, he told me that they have to download steam VR to use oculus XD.
Great place if you're trying to find a wide variety of popular but affordable games, especially if you own an Xbox. If you're looking hard enough you might even find some old hidden gems in there. The staff is friendly, polite and helpful. If you're looking to sell an old phone or laptop you might wanna ask how much they would give you in a voucher for the store as it's a little bit more that you'd get if you were choosing money.
Really nice store, friendly guys willing to help find what you need & test products. Pity that I travelled to get two particular items and one was sold 5 mins before I had got there! The other didn't seem genuine to me. Still they good a good range of tech items.
