CellarDoor

About

Imagine 30's Berlin meets New York basement Dive

Story

Previously the most infamous gents in Theatreland, reputedly the haunt of Wilde, Orton, Gielgud & Crisp, and now London's cult cabaret venue. CellarDoor is secreted beneath the Aldwych in a space just big enough for cats (both feline & human) to swing. We're open until 1am nightly with free live acts from 9pm. We serve exquisite cocktails, bubbles, wine & beer along with naughty lines of both black & white snuff.

"London's cult cabaret club is currently closed during the lockdown. You can however experience the full CellarDoor experience at home with cocktails, camp queens, blues & burlesque at our new CellarDoor Confidential website"

A friend took us here & we had a blast. Cherry Heels was singing & entertaining us. Tiny venue. Great range of cocktails essentially £15 each including the extra charges. Top tip: if you push the latch properly down in the toilet cubicles the glass door goes cloudy!
Popped in for a cocktail and it didn't disappoint. The French martini was amazing. Only a very small bar but apparently has a live act every night. If I wasn't working tomorrow I would be here until closing! Already put in my calender when I'm coming back!
Paid £15 for entry to drag Queen DJ on design my night. Absolute rip off. They give you a glass of Prosecco bearing in mind it’s free for the public if you buy an drink and the drag Queen is a joke. Doesn’t even say anything!!! What a rip off. The entire bar is also in on the rip off. Even when you order drinks at the bar - they will charge service charge despite no service honestly a massive con
Drinks are overpriced, even the non alcoholic ones - £24 for 2 mocktails that had more ice than juice. The extra £4 was for the performer who we never got to see because we were charged for the drinks an hour before they even started. Wouldn't recommend and won't be returning. It's a pity because the setting has a lot of potential.
Always love this little unique venue! It is so small but full of surprises. Good bartender, warm service, even the door man security guys are very nice! I took my friend from Asia to visit here when they were in London, they loved it!
What an amazing bar. It's very small, only sitting 60 and that must be tight as it is hidden away under the streets on London in a converted Victorian Toilet. The atmosphere is great. The night we went had both a cabaret show as well as a burlesque dancer. There is table service and the best cocktails I have had in a long time especially if you like absinthe. For the experience you get and remembering you are in central London the prices show great value for money around £11 a cocktail. Just because every other review I've seen mentions them I would be remiss if I did not mention the toilet doors. Seethrough until you lock them when the most up to give you privacy. A real nice touch, but be aware that you may see some stuff. Cannot recommend highly enough. Will definitely be returning when next I am near.
Has a very extensive cocktail menu, and regular live music, in a quirky location. The drinks we had were all delicious, and the service was good, but given the location / size everything is too expensive to spend a long amount of time there. Nice to go for a visit just to check it out!
Drag Queen Bingo with @RubyViolet69 was brilliant. An unplanned Saturday afternoon visit to Cellar Door. Cosy bar with efficient and friendly bar staff. Ruby, clearly a professional and a just an outstanding performer. Draws you in with friendly banter then the jellyfish sting! A professional singer...do you dare to Karaoke?! X Thanks for a great time x
Really unique bar in the centre of the city. Entrance is a stairways down in the middle of the footpath. It is very small so fills up quickly. The cocktails are 2 4 1 before 8pm and the range of cocktails is excellent. There is free popcorn constantly and shows on in the evenings. Also does a range of snuff
Amazing! The performance was so much fun, the drinks perfect. Will definitely come again
