Cannot fault the Doctors, however the reception staff are rude and incompetent. I finally received a hospital appointment for last week, I was then told to ring the Surgery again for my next step. On doing so yesterday I was rudely told that I had been de-registered from the surgery and I was for some reason now registered in Halesowen? The receptionist made me feel as though it was my fault and belittled me. I’m going through serious health issues and being in pain every day this is a serious lack of compassion and has really upset me.
Excellent medical practice from the receptionists to the nurses and doctors, haven't got a bad word to say about the service.
Such a wonderful GP Practice! The Doctors there have been truly brilliant in helping me care for my elderly parents, one with severe dementia. I am so grateful for all the help and support I have received. Thank you. Especially to Dr Uppala.
Doctors are brilliant. Office girls on reception are absolutely terrible Never answer the phone. You can stand at reception and see into the office and the phones just ring while they chat between themselves. When you do get through after 5 attempts of holding on until the phone cuts off your told you can only book appointments for the following week on a Tuesday and Thursday. Absolute joke Then told to phone first thing in the morning for a same day appointment. I work nights so that won’t work. When you say you don’t want a next day appointment and can wait till next week they say the same phone back on a Tuesday or Thursday. The doctors need to have a serious word with the reception/ office girls. This is a disgrace and are giving the practice a bad name. As I say the doctors are some of the best in Wolverhampton, they are brilliant but the reception need a whole new team putting in place
Castlecroft medical practice is out standing. All their staff and Dr's and Nurses are very knowledgeable and professional. I feel happy and safe under their care.
The administration at this practice is poor at best and incompetent at worst! The Practice Manager couldn't even get the paperwork sorted properly concerning the death of my mother-in-law, causing us a wasted journey to register her death. This has caused further grief and sadness to the family of the deceased.
I've made a phone call to be seen or called by a doctor as my lateral flow is positive for covid. I have mentioned that i believe I had seizures and the the fever doesn't go down bellow 39°c with paracetamol and ibuprofen! I have not been asked for any of my details. I've just been told to come back on Monday with a phone call and being told this are the covid symptoms. No guidance to call 111 or an ambulance. When I asked her if I should stay at home and die she said this is not nice of me to say something like this. She get offended. When I asked for her name she said she doesn't have to give me her name. I will go further with an official complaint as soon as I get better. For now I am waiting the ambulance. I won't recommend.
I've seen a fair few doctors and for the most part they have been very professional and knowledgeable, however this establishment is seriously lacking in another crucial area. The receptionists are quite clearly underqualified. As someone who struggles with anxiety, and needs regular doctor's appointments, I find myself dreading any necessary communication with the staff. Getting an appointment within certain time frames to renew my prescription is absolutely crucial, the receptionists somehow find a way to make this absolutely impossible.
My last visit went very well by doctors standards. I was told to call up at 8am and couldn't get through till 8:40. Never the less I was still able to be seen later that day. The surgeon that saw to me was very polite had a little banter and suggested things that would assist me with my issue. A call back was advised if my issue carried on but for now it's looking okay.
Before you can get an appointment with a doctor or nurse you have to run the gauntlet of reception staff/people who answer the phones and make the decision as to whether or not your symptoms warrant one. I am not one to lie, however, to get an appointment you feel like you have to say it's an emergency and can't be entirely truthful. Yesterday I gave a truthful account of my symptoms and the receptionist told me to just monitor the pain and not to come in. She also told me to read information on the NHS website isn't a good thing to do. In my opinion, this sort of decision making and advice should only come from someone who is medically trained. The medical staff here have always been fantastic.
