Cascade Shopping Centre is a very nice place to visit with the family. It is clean, tidy, and easy to get around. A pleasant and convenient shopping experience overall.
Once upon a time, many years ago, the cascades shopping center was a beacon of Commercial Road. It had a huge, open food court with stunning glass elevators that led to multiple levels of carparks, as well at the first floor shops and lower floor food court. More recently, cascades is suffering from multiple areas of leaking roofs, and a lack of interesting areas and shops. Whilst the area is clean and has some eateries / cafes inside, it just lacks that 'something' that made you want to visit it. For me, it is just a way to walk though from one side of commercial road to the other and occasionally use the public toilets inside. It isn't terrible, certainly not the worst indoor shopping mall I have ever seen but far from the best.
It's definitely had its heyday. I came in here when it had just opened and it was looked after and a brilliant place to visit with good shops and the food court. I don't visit much these days because the decline is depressing. I went in yesterday and there seems to be numerous leaks in the roof with unsightly rain catchers and buckets to collect the water. It all looks very unloved and neglected.
Decent shopping centre with lots of shops. Was local to Travelodge so we went for a stroll before dinner.
Parking is easy, ticket on arrival then pay on exit. Lifts or stairs to shops. Plenty of different shops as well as places to eat. It is a good day out.
