A class act; second to none; period. One of my two all-time fave Golden Age Hollywood film star - the other being Bogey. Here I am, in my mid thirties, back in 2009, donning black leather jacket and shoes, standing beside it/him in the B&W picture, struggling to lean against its real life-size towering complexion - from the height of my 5'7" height pun intended.
Archie Leach...son of this city, always had a quizzical look...a look reflected in Bristol today, genial and good humoured..he was born in Wilder street near Brunswick Square and left for America as part of a juggling troop, changed his name to Cary Grant...and the rest is history.
Great place to go when in bristol
A life-sized bronze statue of the Hollywood legend Cary Grant. The statue was unveiled in December 2001 by his widow Barbara Grant Jaynes to commemorate the Bristol-born actor's achievements.
I've wanted to see this for a looooong time, now I have, worth the wait
Love Cary Grant, but sadly disappointed of where it was and the plaque was so small and it wasn't even near the statue. It is a wonder any one even knows he came from Bristol.
Not a very moving experience! Planetarium is nearby if you need a mirror - good for self-portraits.
This is a really nice statue in millennium square, great tribute to a great actor
Top quality geezer. Glad he's got his own statue.
I wonder if there is also a statue of James Bond.
