This is simply unbelievable. After a month of waiting, three abortive visits by fitters, two measurements, many calls and three visits to the store - trying to make sure that everything is sorted - I still don’t have the carpets, and have just ended up shouting when talking on the phone with the store manager. It’s too bad that I still need to see this mess through. Stay far, far away. UPD. The store manager essentially confirmed his reputation as a thoroughly undependable and clueless individual, and I escalated the situation to Carpetright's head office. (Big thanks to a sympathetic manager high up in Carpetright's hierarchy). It still hasn't been smooth sailing, I am afraid - for example, I had to insist that there were two measurements before my new contact found both - and I am not sure that fitters' visit 4 will succeed, but fingers crossed. UPD2. It has now been 2 months since the order date.There have been 7(!) fitter visits, and there may be more, because the carpet on the landing was not laid straight. (Technically speaking, this is the fault of the fitter, not Carpetright - but since it's Carpetright who arrange the fitting (and charge $36 for "fitting service administration"), I feel i can hold them accountable). What can I say - it has been an unpleasant and stressful experience. Next time, I will try my luck with John Lewis.

Easily the WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD with a business. They installed our carpets, laminate, and vinyl over 2 days and didn't finish the job because they needed to order parts. Expected a call from them to tell us the parts came in and 2 weeks later they never called. We called, only to find out it would take an additional 2 weeks to order the parts (someone forgot to order). Arranged installation and the guy never showed even though I waited at home with my sick child for them to come (instead of going to the doctors like I really needed to). We also had to move the furniture away from the walls and superheat the house to make the vinyl malleable so that they could finish and that meant I was tripping all over the place the entire day in an extremely hot house. We paid for all of that heating and my daughter got a heat rash! I had to move all of the furniture back to the original place, as my husband wasn't home for a few days so that I could access our kitchen for cooking. Called them for 2 days without getting through to see why on earth they bailed the appointment. Finally went in person, with my 3 month old screaming the whole way there, and the store was being refurbished! Nobody was in and they didn't bother calling any of their clients!!! So went to the next nearby store and had to talk to THAT manager to get in touch with our ORIGINAL manager. Finally get a call the next day and he says that the next they can do was over a week later (and honestly really unempathetic on the phone, telling me that other people would be disappointed just like I was if they had to cancel their appointments and telling me that I wouldn't want to cause others to be upset....very unprofessional to say the least) and that he guarantees it will be done first thing in the morning next week. It's now 9pm on the day he promised and my husband took off work for this!!! AGAIN in a superheated house waiting for them. I've also not yet put up our Christmas tree because it will be on the space they need to fix even though it's now fast approaching Christmas. When we called earlier today the employee said that he would get the installation guys to stop what they were doing and come straight to ours at noon. He never delivered this message to the poor installation guy who rang us to ask if we could postpone because he wouldn't be done in time to come to ours. The manager who "guaranteed" it would be done also wasn't in today. They tried to get us to prolong it but after constant battles on the phone will hopefully get the work we paid for to be done over 7 weeks ago completed just in time for our housewarming party and Christmas, even if it is at 10pm! DON'T EVER GO HERE!!!!!!! **update: the guy never showed last night even though he told us he was coming late
