Sunnyhurst woods is a very beautiful tranquil place to walk. At one end you can climb up high for beautiful views of the surrounding areas. Or you can walk by the stream to the park to see the band stand and beautiful house.

Great access to ancient woodlands , with the bonus of Darwen Tower if you want to extend your walk. Amazing views from there.

Small Car Park Free can cater for upto around 25 cars.  Convenient & Ideal Location to walk down into Sunnyhurst Woods or to walk upto Darwen Tower.  Appears to be open 24 hours too

My favourite local walk in the woods, lots of different paths to follow from one end of the woods to the other. Some of the paths have been ruined by the bad weather but work is being done to sort that by the look of things. Good place to get some fresh air, a little exercise and spend quality time with family. There is even the Sunnyhurst pub at the end to make a good walk even better!

Good place to park if you are going for a walk up the hill. Enough places for around 12 cars.

Woods themselves are a pleasant walk with informative signs, but the car park is a little small, appears to be used as gravel storage, and has no space markers to encourage people to park well enough to make good use of the space that is available.

It's small but it's free. I had no trouble parking on a weekday but I'd guess this fills up quickly on weekends, especially when the sun's out.

Perfect spot for a walk along the Gruffalo path or set off for a hike up to the tower. Spaces for around a dozen vehicles.

Nice and pleasant walk with or without. Dogs.excellent access to Darwen tower. Ideal haunt for cyclists ramblers and horse riders.
