A lovely park! Visited to get out of the house and a bit of fresh air and wasn’t disappointed. Very scenic and plenty of paths to take you all sorts of routes.nnI will say it’s not very suitable for anyone with any kind of mobility issue as there’s a lot of steep steps, hills and it can be quite muddy.nnWould like to return to walk all the way to the tower!
Really nice park but lack of signage and public toilets means I can't give it 5 stars. It has some beautiful little walks and appears to be split in two as I noticed a second area accessible across the road as we were leaving. Worth a visit
Lovely park, not huge but big enough for a pleasant walk.
Took our two dogs here for convenience. It was a cold, grey, wet, dreary day but we enjoyed our walk. No-one else was around so pups were free to play zoomies and explore somewhere they haven't been for some time. Lots of mud and water but that's fine for us. We didn't visit the playground at all so cannot comment on that area. Footpaths were teeny bit dangerous but I had good waterproof hiking style trainers so all was well. Another of Darwen's beautiful park and woodland areas!
Lovely park! No car park but lots of parking available in the side streets nearby. Not suitable for prams or wheelchairs as there are a lot of steps and some pretty steep paths. Plenty of benches and bins. No toilets or refreshments but it is not far from Bolton Road where you would probably find a cafe or a pub. There is a children's play area and a large fenced off duck pond. We found a gap in the fence away from the birds but it was extremely muddy at the edge of the water. Luckily there is a stream running through the park and a few waterfalls so managed to wash the dogs off.nnThe park is split in two with a quite busy road so dogs had to go on lead to cross. When you come out the other end you can walk up to Darwen Tower we didn't have enough time but it is a steep walk. Would make a lovely day out with a picnic and a walk up to the tower where the views are amazing.nnLots of pokestops and gyms for those who play.nnHighly recommend a visit.
