Very disappointed. When I called they only blamed the courier who delivered the cake. The person on the phone was very rude and couldn't do anything. They just blamed the courier. Very bad experience. They destroyed the surprise and the birthday party which will now be without the cake. Please be careful when ordering from them. If it arrives damaged they won't do anything at all.
Ordered this cake on Friday yesterday for Saturday today collection, and my parents went to collect it. As soon as they sent me the picture, I told them to call me because I was SHOCKED at the careless and rubbish way the writing was on the cake. Last year, we got a cake from here and the font was written the same as previous pictures in the reviews. Very neatly. When my parents called, they handed the phone over to the lady who by the accent I could tell was Asian/Indian. She said that the usual font was from 3 years ago, they don’t do that font anymore. I could tell this was absolute nonsense - she just doesn’t have the skills to write on any cake. She even said it was a machine - ANOTHER LIE. She couldn’t even join the letters up. Anyway this cake is very embarrassing so we urgently got one from nearby. Management, PLEASE NOTE: Our pick up time was at 4PM, Cake order 200-COL-001795190. Whatever staff member worked there at this time was very incompetent. I can’t believe how she wrote on the cake. Even when I told her I want the style that Cake Box always does- she couldn’t do it. See photos attached. She messed it up.
Think twice about ordering from this store via Uber eats. I would also have second thoughts about actually ordering from here as they are only concerned with taking your money . Cake arrived damaged/ of poor quality. The decoration on top appears to have under whipped cream. Not up to the usual standards of eggfree cake box cakes as I have been ordering from cake box since they have opened in East London . I called the edmonton store for a resolution, the guy on the phone said its not his problem it's an uber eats problem and 'shouldn't be speaking with me'. No consideration that we are celebrating a birthday today and we have a damaged cake . Resolution given was to order another cake with no guarantee the next one I order will arrive intact. How many cakes does this money grabbing business expect me to order ? They are only interested in taking money no care for people or birthday/celebrations. He slammed the phone down on me with no help . Very unfortunate, as the business is a franchise I would consider spending your money in another branch that actually cares .. Hopefully I will find a store that actually knows how to treat people and realise they can make or break people's events. So to give an update , I had a call almost straight after this review was posted from the manager to say as I haven't paid them and I have paid uber again its not their issue to fix ? Order from their website directly instead . Again it proves my point that this store is only after money and has no interest in people and providing good customer service
Cake box To whom it concerns, Went into cake box Edmonton today 24/04/2023 15:23 And bought the £7.99p Red velvet cake from cake box spoke to Alia, she said it was all fresh got to the car Took a bite it was disgusting and dry, it’s not fresh so she was lying

I usually buy my cakes from you but today I choose to walk away. Your price increases are ridiculous!! I wanted a small cake for 3 people £19.99. The cake is so tiny, it wouldn't be enough for 3 people. I walked on & found another local bakery that had much better cakes, bigger & for less money!! It instantly put a smile on my Face Nothing worse than being ripped off by greedy companies. Goodbye cakebox. #NEVERAGAIN
