Awful experience trying to book my 2020 id3 in for its first service. Booked almost a month ago, called by service manager a week before booking to say that they are unable to service until a recall had been completed, the part for which is on back order with no eta. Car is now overdue it's first service potentially affecting resale value. When I asked to lodge a complaint, I was told to take it up with VW as not their problem. When questioned on why I thought it was their problem, being an authorised VW dealer and service partner, phone operator got defensive, said "goodbye" and hung up on me. Called back to find out how to lodge complaint to be met by a reactive response. I will be escalating a complaint.
Excellent VW dealership. We dealt with Guy when purchasing a approved used car & part exchanging our old one. The whole experience was smooth and easy. Highly recommended

Last month I purchased an approved Polo from Caffyns VW Haywards Heath. The car was delivered on 9/9/2021 with three issues we could easily notice the next day we got to drive the car. 1The interior of the car was not clean at all although a full vallet had been promised. 2The cooling function of the A/C has not been working. 3The car has been shaking on take-offs and sometimes while shifting from first gear into second. It is a DSG tranmission and as long-term DSG users we could immediately notice that there has been a problem. Regarding the above mentioned issues I tried to contact the used car supervisor several times. Unfortunately for more than 2 weeks my e-mails has not been answered. I assume they just don't want to leave any written evidence. When I got the chance to have a talk with them over phone it is not easy during my busy schedule as an NHS worker, the earliest date they can offer a courtesy car to have a look at the problems of my Polo is later than 3 weeks. For example we had a chat on 25/09 and a courtesy car was offered for 18/10. Their only advise is that I could call other Caffyns branches to seek for help : 2 lessons to take from this process: -Never buy an approved? used car from Caffyns Haywards Heath because their 100+ points check is not reliable. -Never buy a car from Caffyns Haywards Heath because if your car breaks down and the problem needs to be fixed under warranty they are not able to provide a courtesy car within 3 weeks. Definetely worst experience I have ever had.
I recently had an issue with my VW Golf - I was told that the work would not be guaranteed unless I had a full diagnosis £50, injector replacement and absolute confirmation that everything was checked for my road trip to France at a cost of £822 I even asked if it was definitely ok to travel-100 miles later when I arrived in France, the same issue occurred again, unbelievable - I then phoned VW Haywards Heath. I spoke to the Service Manager for help, his answer was there weren't going to do anything about the issue-I asked for help with some costs to help get the car back to England-they weren't interested, I was left completely stranded and ripped off by this dealership. Don't have your car repaired here, totally unhelpful and I will be reporting them to trading standards and VW for follow up action so no one else suffers this mis-fortune. To confirm I wrote an email as requested by the owner, no reply received - VW Head Office are currently investigating 12/10/21.
I hope this review will help others to decide on their car service options. My experience with the service desk was very good. Nathan and Emma were good listeners and ready to assist throughout with customer requirements. Called me in good time to point out that brakes needed replacing and some point the tyres too. Good engine oil was put in the car unlike other dealers, together with other components which were necessary. A detailed invoice was given that showed transparency of costs, which was reassuring. Overall I was pleased with the improved performance of the car, the braking system, the smoothness in driving experience. Therefore to be fair, the company, their staff and mechanics deserve a credit.
