My husband and I stopped here for late lunch. Staff are all friendly and warm welcoming. Small dinning area but enough to enjoy and also available garden seating. My husband had a ham and chess croissant it was very nice. And salad is worth to pay. Lovely !!! And they have chocolate pistachio cake it’s not really sweat, and tasty great! You should try. When is nice weather we may Come back.
Lovely little cafe in an amazing location. I came here for breakfast, the place was busy and bustling even though it was rainy out so that was a good sign. Service was a bit hectic but staff were friendly and polite. The only feedback I had was that the menu and options could have been displayed or visualized a little more efficiently to make ordering easier as it was quite confusing trying to understand what exactly was on the menu. The cappuccino I ordered was nice but a little smaller than normal and the chocolate croissant was lovely and light. Overall a good vibe and nice place for a cozy coffee.
Baguette itself was soft and crunchy, but the filling is tiny for the 6.95 price… I expected more than a thin slit on the bread and a single layer of meat and lettuce, and the mayonnaise was too sweet and greasy and was really overpowering, even with the smoked duck. Definitely go and order from the counter than from the menu, for better decisions and more interesting surprises. In the last minute I got a Kentish honey cake to go instead of French pastries. Creamy, not too sweet, and tasted like layered cheese cake, though I’m wondering what makes it Kentish.. The cappuccino was watery, reminding me of the self-service coffee machine at budget hotels. The staff are friendly and helpful thanks for accommodating my half to go half for here request. The space does feel like a French enclave at the heart of a Roman British town. We took some rest here in the afternoon sunshine before boarding the train as the Good Shed is closed on Monday. Hope one day the food can catch up with the lovely place.
Lovely cafe. Friendly, laid back ambience and very dog friendly. The outside seating area was really nice on a warm day like today. Will definitely return for lunch soon, the baguettes looked delicious!
I have been eating here when I'm in Canterbury for more than twenty years. It's a small piece of France, with great staff and a superb menu. I am never disappointed. Even a proper French soap on the wall in the washroom, which helps to makes it a delight when you need a French fix.Food: 5/5
I genuinely cannot think of a nicer patisserie in the UK. Whenever I am in Canterbury or driving past, I detour to grab some of their almond croissants and fruit scones. I took my mother in on Sunday and she loved the food. Lovely decor, nice team behind the till and for the VERY high quality of baking, great value. See you soon! Merci beaucoup!
Friendly staff and the whole place is very cute. The apple crumble cake was great but my partner was disappointed by the store-bought muffin.Food: 4/5
Stopped by for a hot chocolate. Lovely little cafe, lots of cake and fresh pastries available. Very busy so there may be a wait. Staff very attentive and friendly. Kid-friendliness: Loads of kids and options on the menu for kids.
Most excellent French pastries pâtisseries in town! Lovely garden areas in all seasons. Good food and very friendly staff. And! Dogs are welcome...
I have been frequenting this establishment for many years now and honestly it hasn’t changed. I consistently receive great service, from eager happy members of staff. The owner greets his customers in French to add for a more authentic service and the food never fails to disappoint. Despite its increasing popularity the staff have managed to adapt and overcome to avoid any issues with seating. I almost wish less people knew about it’s existence. I can’t praise the place enough, get the soup. The coffee is great, and the breakfast is good value for money also.
