We visited this morning for a quick breakfast before heading home on the train. I’m so glad we found Rio after searching on Google maps for breakfast. What a beautiful little place. We were welcomed by the owner who is so friendly and kind, we ordered quickly and received a fantastic breakfast and coffee, and toast and a tea. Really lovely food, freshly made and very hot. So lovely chatting with the owner about my bistro and hearing she has had hers open 20 years! Couldn’t recommend Cafe Rio enough, we will come back one day!
Well maintained clean and neat place, food was awesome I love it, not much crowded. Tasted almost everything in the menu Food: 5/5

Lovely little place! Fast service and delicious food. We tried the full English and a sandwich. The bread especially was among the best we have had. We like to be mainly left alone to eat, and we were. Would absolutely recommend a visit.
I mean I love Brazilian food but I think this place made me fall in love with feijoada all over again. The meal was so nice, portion was just perfect. The hostess was extremely friendly you can see she knows her regulars. Always have a nice word. And to make it even better the playlist was taking you all the way to Brazil. Little hidden gem
Excellent service! Staff is lovely! Coffee very nice and aromatic! Start your day with a smile and an amazing coffee and fresh orange juice! Will be back there soon!Food: 5/5

TERRIBLE experience here today and their settings are only allowing 5 star reviews. I am a patient at UCLH and was allowed out today with my parents off my IV drip. My parents ordered an omelette, and avocado on toast. After an HOUR and multiple prompts explaining I had to return to the ward soon, there was STILL no food despite the cafe only having 4 tables occupied . I personally spoke to the chef and asked how much longer would we have to wait for the omelette and avocado on toast , and she dismissed me and asked did I want to cancel. We had to leave so I could return to hospital, and despite waiting an hour for what was intentionally ordered to be the quickest to cook and serve on the menu , and seeing I was a patient with IV line in my arm, they still tried to charge for the meals we never received. If you have 2 hours to wait for toast and omelette they might be worth it but it is the worst, slowest and most rude restaurant experience we have ever had.
I look forward to visiting this cafe, whenever I am in London, as a reward for tolerating the long and boring journey from darkest Kent. My advice is to walk past all the big, multinational coffee chains nearby and treat yourself to some real coffee, order at the counter, take a seat and enjoy the experience of having your coffee served to you by the friendly and charming staff, enjoy the fantastic coffee and soak up the atmosphere while thinking about the money you have saved by not following the herd who are still waiting in the multinational coffee shop for some bored ‘barista’ to call their name. I haven’t tried the food, but it looks superb and fellow patrons seem to clear their plates without complaints. There are always freshly made treats on offer, which take a tremendous amount of willpower to resist.
Called in for a coffee and a snack to take away. Opted for some of their small cheesy rolls and a homemade cookie. I enjoyed both and would be keen to sample something else. The cafe has seating inside and out and the atmosphere seems very comfortable although I didn't stay in. Staff were very helpful in recommending an item to accompany my coffee. Glad I called in and will be planning a future stop. We'll worth a look and somewhere away from the "main drag"
