Stumbled into cafe Bruges by chance on a Sunday afternoon. We were 10 minutes late for the lunch menu but the staff said they would happily prepare something from the lunch menu if that is what we wanted. The service was great throughout, prompt and polite. The beers were great too. We only had the house beer but would happily return to try others off of the vast drinks menu. The food came out and we were all very impressed, it looked delicious. We were not disappointed. I had a meatball waffle with chips and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. In fact everyone In our group loves there food. Even the really picky people amongst us. When we first walked in I had my reservations as I have never eaten Belgium food before but we will return for more without a doubt.
Warm friendly service.I been to most places to eat in Maidstone.but this is my favourite! Quality at its best. Can taste it with every bite!I also like the open kitchen.shows hygiene is class 1.very clean! And the chef's are professional! Great atmosphere.some night live music to! there is also a amazing array of Belgium beers.Very classy A+
Been here several times now. Selection of beers is brilliant and the knowledge the barman have of the beers is excellent, do they can recommend ones to suit your taste. The food is very tasty indeed! The beer and chocolate Cheesecake is stunning.
Such a great restaurant / bar, exactly the new type of place that is needed in Maidstone! Really chilled out with a lovely little outside seating area, the selection of beers is amazing, even if you are not a beer drinker there are lots that are nice that you can try! Plenty of other drinks on offer too, The cheese board that came with the 3 testing beers was delicious as were our main meals! This is a perfect place to come and relax with friends, there is no rush to get you in and out, in fact we spent 4 leisurely hours here. We will be back for certain.
Having been touted as the best steak in Maidstone, expectations were understandably high but unfortunately not fulfilled. The Ribeye was average but acceptable. Lacking in tenderness. Worth a repeat visit? Probably not. Friendly and efficient service,. The search continues....
As others have said, we only stumbled across this place by chance. And so glad we did. Great beer. Great food. Great service. Especially from a young belgium man. Highly recommend a visit.
Visited for a family meal, early evening yesterday. Only one person seemed to be doing all jobs, front of house, waitress and barmaid, consequently service was slow another family actually walked out instead of waiting any longer. Three of the starters were fine, soup was lovely, but the cheese croquets were still frozen in the middle. Main meals just had little or no flavour. A real shame.
Sorry to post this review but really need to! Just spent an hour and half waiting for our breakfast sitting on a quite empty cafè, when we arrived. The waitress was kind but not extremely helpful. We were already waiting for an hour when we were told they burnt my croissant and they had to re-do it...i guess they had to re-warm it up....i strongly believe the croissants were already baked by the way. After other 10 min a burnt croissant was served, with a promise of our breakfast been almost ready. One other table was served about 20/30 min before us, it crossed our mind they could have been there from the night before .. None else was served anyway after that and we were the first of the cue. Finally few min before 12.00 our breakfast was served....altough they did forget to put the fried egg on a full english breakfast and we had to call the waitress ...to fill the full english breakfast... Not exuses were served with breakfast nor complimentary drinks while waiting for our not really elaborate breakie. Food was fine. I hate write bad reviews but a couple of excuses would have help !
Visited Cafe Bruges Bistro with my partner yesterday for the Grand Opening. Truly a Five Star venue in the heart of Maidstone Town with amazing food and a wide range of Belgian Beers, Spirits and Wines. Definitely will visit again!
Had a great time on Saturday night. Food was tasty and the beer selection is vast. A nice choice for a casual meal or a drink with friends. A real gem.
